Dr. Andrea Leslie Sacknoff, MD

I have gone to Dr Andrea Sacknoff for my last two colonoscopy's and was very satisfied with her expertise, personal interaction and directness.

Run don't walk when you're thinking of going to Dr Andrea Sacknoff. I was referred to her by another MD and was so disappointed, She was very cold. I handed her an CT scan from another radiology office and she said why did I go there. Like I'm suppose to know she was not a fan of Z/P. In my paperwork I mentioned I had weight loss. After she examined me she said how thin I was and I was at risk for a fracture Duh!! I wrote I had a weight loss and I was very concerned and felt insulted that she brought it up. She also told me that I need a follow up colonoscopy. After I set it up I went home and cancelled my appointment. After my MRI today I'm having the results sent to anther GI doctor who got rave review. That's my review of Dr Andrea Sacknoff!!!!

About three weeks after a routine colonoscopy with another doctor (at a different office), I started to feel really ill. I tried making an appointment to see that doctor, or to talk with him, but couldn't get through. By last Friday I was desperately ill. I called Dr. Sacknoff's office to see my old gastro there but he was away and they offered me Dr. Sacknoff. I did look on the reviews on this site and was apprehensive but I went. She was kind, she was direct. She examined me, took bloods and immediately started me on antibiotics. She sent me straight from her office to a radiologist for CT of the abdomen, which showed that I had a severe bowel infection. She called everyday to check on me and followed up immediately with test results. She was kind, which is very appreciated when you are not feeling well. But most of all, she was extremely competent and caring, something the doctor who performed the colonoscopy did not appear to be. If it wasn't for her quick action, I… would have been in the hospital. More important, the infection might have been unmanageable and who knows what would have happened. I also want to say that the office staff was great because they got me right in for an appointment. Dr. Sacknoff will be my gastro for life. I absolutely recommend her as how a doctor responds in an emergency is everything. In addition, although the doctor who performed the colonoscopy was initially upset that I went to Dr. Sacknoff (meaning, angry I treated with a doctor other than him), and then later apologized when he realized his staff refused to get me in for an appointment, Dr. Sacknoff didn't mind at all sharing the information she had and treatment with the other doctor (a colon rectal specialist). When the colon rectal guy called to apologize, he said that Dr. Sacknoff gave me the exact treatment I needed. Do not hesitate to go to her.

I have been seeing Dr. Sacknoff for many years and have always found her to be professional, caring and thorough.

I wish I had read reviews prior to seeing her. How is it that she is part of Prohealth? Clearly they do not care about the specialists that are part of their network or is it that patients are prisoners of their insurance companies participating providers? She was rude, late, dismissive and didn't listen to my concerns with an ounce of interest!

I went to Dr. Sacknoff for about 2 yrs for a chronic G.I. problem. She has absolutely no bedside manners, she dismissed any symptoms I was having, and gave horrible assessments or none at all. To shut me up, she put me on pills and told me to come back in three months. After I looked up the medication, it said I needed liver function test while on the medication. She never informed me of that, never called for follow ups, overall showed me she just wanted my business. I cried to her once over an issue and she completely dismissed me and referred me to a doctor to go on antidepressants! Avoid her like the plague is right !

The most amazing thing was arriving at 8:50am for a 9am appointment, followed by reading magazines for 2.5 hours in the waiting room, followed by an extremely cursory exam. It was in fact only a routine exam, rather than treatment for a specific problem, but I am unaccustomed to being put on hold for an entire morning in order to briefly see her majesty the princess-physician.

I am very pleased with Dr. Sacknoff. She is very thorough and the staff is very friendly and kind. I do not have to wait long in the office nor is there a big delay in getting procedures scheduled.She does not have the best personality but I don't need or want a friend just a good doctor and that is her!!!
