Dr. Andrea Elizabeth Varga, MD

This doctor was very disappointing. She doesn’t listen and affects a haughty and cold disposition. She apparently doesn’t respect her patients and appears uninterested in the patient’s opinions.

Very easy to make an appointment but she doesn't know what she is doing. Go somewhere else

I have been using Dr.Varga as my primary care physician for almost 4 years. I have been repeatedly disappointed by her care. She is very conservative which I generally like but I have now been misdiagnosed three times, mostly due to a lack of thoroughness in approach. I have chronic ear infections (and as an adult have had ear tubes put in three times over past 5 years so I can fly) so whenever I get a cold I go into ear infections and often bronchial infections. I went to her when sick and all three times I was told it was "viral and allergies" and she refused to treat me, and all three times I ended up at a Walkin clinic a few days later and treated for ear infection. She doesn't even look in my ears unless I ask her to, and last time she told me she could see the tubes present in both ears but one had wax obstructing it so she couldn't see much. She made no effort to remove the wax, so three days later when I am still in so much pain, I once again go to the walk-in clinic,… they remove the wax and see that the ear is infected! I spoke to a friend who is a nurse practitioner and she said that it was unacceptable that she didn't even try to help her patient and remove the wax and get a clear look - and she is my primary care and is supposed to be looking out for me and know me a little bit! Never mind the cost of having to pay twice! I get a physical from her every year, and it is the quickest physical ever, she asks some questions while looking at the computer the whole time, uses a stethoscope to check my heart and lungs. Never looks in my ears (which is weird considering my history), no EKG, no reflexes, nothing else. I asked for a refill on my Ambien, which I have only filled once in a year so obviously am not using it often, and she saw that I still had pills in the bottle which which I had brought and she said initially said no, because I still had some. I said yes, but only about 10 and it lasts me about a year, and when I called to refill it, they told me I had to make an office visit (and be charged for that) to get the refill so I waited for my upcoming physical rather than pay for a second office visit. She left the room and came back and said she could send it in - but it was very uncomfortable and unfriendly. I agree with a previous reviewer who said she is arrogant, and I would add uncaring. I will be going elsewhere.

I had blood work done and it came back that something was really wrong. I ended up in the ER and the emergency dr told me to see my regular dr. He agreed something is wrong. Not only did I not get a call from dr to find out what happened but I actually had to ask about more blood work and they finally agreed. The office staff asked which lab so I told them and then they called back to ask again and when I went to the lab the next morning they still had not received the order so I had to sit there and wait for the office to open to get the lab faxed. The woman I asked about faxing the order seemed irritated and said you know it’s a fasting order and I said yes that I had been fasting. I will be changing Drs soon

She was recommended to me by another doctor and with my best experience I’ve made, I highly recommend Dr. Varga to those, who expect perfection and knowledge .
