Way way way overconfident. I guess he was over compensating for the fact that no one except naive patients believes psychoanalysis does anything other than enrich themselves off overly dependent patients. It felt good for a bit but certainly didn’t help. When I saw on the news that he has a deranged niece ( Clara kraebber ) I was not surprised at all. That mental illness is prevalent in his family was no surprise to me. I find it creepy that his brother and wife are in the same line of work. He did a number on me. I had to unlearn many deluded thoughts that I picked up from him. His problem is that he is money driven , is completely pretentious and narcissistic , can be a bully who seemed very anxious about money. I believe he found ways to me distressed so that I remained paying him. Very very manipulative guy and remember he is trained in how the mind works so you will be no match for his powers of manipulation. He used his power over me in devious and self serving ways and really… got into my head ( but not in a good way ). Be careful there nyc shrinks are a sinister bunch especially from Columbia. I had a bit more success with a therapist from NYU ( much less arrogant and more down to earth)

Him and his entire family are a bunch of overeducated vain phony social climbing lying kooks. The last reviewer is incorrect it’s his niece not his daughter that is the terrorist felon although I’m sure he messed his own children up all the same. I found him to be a sinister puppeteer and when i discovered , shortly after hiring him, that both his brother and wife were psychoanalysts I knew he was part of a crazy sick cult. Before I met him I thought the stereotypes Of psychiatrists as sinister incompetents was untrue ( I grew up around several lovely psychiatrists ) but I learned I was wrong and the stereotypes were spot on. The cure ( expensive cure at that) was way worse than the problem .unlike kraebber I take my duties and responsibilities seriously and I have a duty to warn

Terrible bedside manners with patients. The is even worse with his own staff. He once threw a book at his pregnant nurse hitting her in the face. I do not recommend him at all.

Arrogant and outdated ( just another drug pumping money hungry boomer doctor ) kissed my butt for awhile because he want I’ll ed me to keep coming back for his non scientific hogwash. I almost feel badly because he tried so hard to reel me in. He must have thought I was that desperate that I would buy his attention and friendship. Let him manipulate someone else. I got out of there pretty quickLy and am now healing myself mostly on my own using friends and another doctor who is less full of himself and more science based and genuine. Spoiler alert he tries super hard for you to grow dependent on him.

Very smart compassionate but yet will tell you what he thinks. Not overpowering. My family has engaged several in this field and no one has come close to ability and treatment. As for the comments by others that he over prescribes, I found the opposite. He has worked hard to get me off several meds and harder still to build a healthy lifestyle.
