Dr. Andreas Schmid, MD

Had an opportunity to become acquainted with Dr. Schmid when I was involved in a clinical study. I was impressed by his care and treatment of me as a person, not just a patient. I completed the clinical study and subsequently became a patient of his as he was very familiar with my disease itself, and had access to current medications and possible new treatment regimes that might become available. Over the last 2 years as his patient I have come to respect and appreciate his kindness, intelligence, and positive outlook on my care and me as a person trying to live each day with this disease. He encourages me but also recognizes the limitations that might come with this diagnosis. Dena (his nursing right hand girl) is wonderful about making sure you understand and are comfortable with decisions you are making and the information they are giving you. While this disease has given me many problems, I feel finding this team at KU will give me the most positive outcome for my treatment. Thank… you Dr. Schmid, Dena, and all your staff for your knowledge, kindness, and wonderful care of me both as a patient and a person.

I Started seeing Dr.Schmid for a lung infection that I had- Dr.Schmid always called me back or answered my emails- (even on weekends)He always followed up on any CT scans or blood work as well- He is a true professional in every meaning of the word- Everyone at U M office is great as well!! I travel over 60 miles to see him and it is well worth it-I Had lousy Doctors in Boca that did not treat my lung infection as they should- However Dr.Schmid and the U M team got me on the right track- He is the best!
