Dr. Andree Fontaine Heinl, MD

Over the phone she was able to diagnose the breathing difficulties of my infant son. I was holding him trying to sooth his cries while taking her call. She talked me though the test to see if he was having difficulties. She called ahead to Hasbro and instructed me to bring him there immediately. She has continued to be my children's doctor as my family grew up. I trust Dr Heinl with the lives of my children. Over the years, she has always shown herself to be a supportive, caring and attentive physician.

condescending and abrasive to my child and myself during a sensitive and exhausting hospitalization. recommended poor treatments and inaccurate diagnosis that could have injured my child, had i listened blindly to her. truly a holier than thou attitude that was discouraging to an exhausted family.

This physician was extremely condescending, did not listen to me as the patient's mother, did not pay attention to details of his history and physical exam, and made a recommendation that I did not agree with (nor did other physicians subsequently when I secured a second opinion). She made my child uncomfortable, and her recommendations contradicted the wishes of the family and ultimately the recommendations from the consulting subspecialists. On subsequent calls, regarding a sibling, she was equally condescending. I am disappointed that she is a member of an otherwise seemingly strong practice.

Dr. Heinl is THE best in the state in my. My daughter has many complex diagnosis and illnesses since being born premature. Dr. Heinl has been spot on every time we visit. She takes her time to explain everything to you and shes great in terms of follow up. If she needs to refer you out, she is great with that as well. Even when having to refer you out, she won't send you anywhere she would not send her own children. Iv'e had to deal with many doctors through the years and she tops them all. Shes professional, Shes respected, Shes beyond knowledgeable and my daughter wants to be just like her when she grows up. What more can you ask for?

Overall very unhappy with this office.
