Dr. Andres Pelaez, MD

El dr Pelaez es un medico muy profesional ,dedicado y muy humano,en cuanto tomo mi caso en sus manos lo supo llevar a feliz termino y eso que yo llegue en condiciones criticas (tengo transplante doble de pulmon) siempre me senti muy atendida ,tiene mucha empatia con el paciente y con sus familiares,el equipo que mantiene a su cargo es igualmente exelente,si en algun momento estuvieran con un problema pulmonar sin duda alguna el Dr Pelaez es el neumonologo al cual deben acudir,ademas de muy preparado cualidad que le permite tomar decisiones acertadas en el momento preciso es el tipo de medico que esta siempre contigo desde ,durante y despues de la cirugia hasta que te dan de alta,el sabe como darte paz y tranquilidad .Por otro lado el Hospital Shands en si posee un personal con la mas alta calidad humana y de atencion qu me dejo gratamente sorprendida...gracia Dr Pelaez y a todo su equipo por la oportunidad de una segunda vida....Rita de pastore...

Exceptional pulmonologist. Shows real care and empathy towards the patient. His up to date in current and experimental treatments. His knowledge/intelligence are outstanding. Willing to do anything to improve a patient's quality of life.

Dr. Pelaez is a very caring, friendly and an excellent doctor. He was my mother's doctor when he was at Emory University in Atlanta. He stood by us through everything and that includes late night ER visits. Dr. Pelaez would come in to the ER no matter the time to help and get my mom taken care of. When my mother was dying he cared enough to sit with me and let me cry and tell him how hard it was to deal with. He did everything that he could do for my mother and he even tried to get her a second transplant, but was voted down by the transplant team. Dr. Pelaez is top notch and I would suggest that anyone needing pulmonary care see him. He is a bright young man with many accomplishments to his name. If he comes across as stern and aloof it is because he has to be. You can't lie to a patient about their diagnosis and I appreciate that he never lied to me about my mom's situation. If you are fortunate enough to have Dr. Peleaz as your doctor please know you will be taken good care of.

Dr. Pelaez was very abrupt with my family telling them that I was going to die and that he "would not" operate on me. He added that "this will not be re-visited".Days later he couldn't wait to transplant my lungs. Ummm,I do not need a transplant and I'm still alive. Thanks anyway but no thanks.

Dr. Pelaez's accuracy in diagnosing a problem is excellent. He was my Doctor for a double lung transplant and always knew the problem and how to fix it. One hundred percent of the time.

Dr.Pelaez is a VERY caring person and he will go above and beyond most doctors. He is very personable and really cares about his patients. I would go to him for anything .
