Dr. Andrew George Chenelle, MD

The most inhuman person I’ve ever came across. He and his partner explained the craniotomy another way and during surgery which took 11 hrs, opened up my entire head. Did a very bad job at stitching it up and had to put three nails around left ear area which I later found out through my dentist when he took X-rays. They both did a terrible job and damaged my nerves to a point that I have to live with half face and head trauma for the rest of my life. With each passing day the after effects are getting worse and worse and eventually my face would be paralyzed one day. After surgery during office visits, both partners ignored what I had to share and Mr.Chanelle even exit the room while I was talking and his assistant was taking notes. I forcefully had to put one star so I could submit the review.

Dr, Chenelle is great about telling you what you want to hear, true or not. I've just completed my 3rd surgery trying to repair some of the damage he did to me.

It’s been a lot of years since Dr Chenelle made a tragic mistake that caused my husband to have a serious stroke. There is never a Valentines Day that I don’t relive the horror of that Valentine’s Day. I will never understand why he was allowed to continue to practice he deserves no stars

I originally was supposed to have a different dr. But after multiple stays in the hospital he was a on call and just kinda pushed his way in and all of a sudden he was my dr. I was supposed to have a minimal advise laminectomy and dicestomy. The surgery was supposed to take 2-4 hrs and I was out in 45 min. In recovery I was told by his pa that I had a spinal fluid leak and had to lay flat for 24hrs but otherwise it was a success. After I was released the pain was intense it felt like a lasso was around my spine and everytime I took a step w my right leg it would just pull down on my spine. It went on like take for almost a year. His answer was u have a lot of scar tissue some pt, Stronger meds, and injections was the answer. Well my pt knew immediately something was wrong thank god for her and my primary. During the injections he insisted I have the dr had a hard time inserting the needle (must b the scar tissue he said) all my post op imaging showed a ton of cloudy mess around the… area of operation. Enough was enough at that time so I was sent to a university hospital (no dr will touch u at a regular hospital after you go to one in that profession) he pulled up one of Chenelles own MRI's after my surgery and bam it was all clear to me, I was shocked when shown by and extremely good dr that the surgery was never completed!!! And he caused the spinal fluid leak and stopped u could see it in the mri the clear and the cloudy (should have been no cloudy in the spinal canal) and didn't even touch the disc he was supposed to repair and said he did. I had another surgery w my new neuro (he had to open me completely up 6 inch scar plus the 4 different ones I already had from chenelle btw only supposed to b 2 from him) and afterwards I was told my whole right side of my spine was covered in surgical glue and he definitely did not do the surgery like he said he did he caused the leak and gluedit up and closedme up. My spine is destroyed now and so is my life I will have multiple surgeries my whole life and im 34 now he did this to me when I was 27. He doesn't explain anything and his bedside manner is non existent. I wouldn't send a rat to him!!! Watch out, I've met more than a few former patients of his w similar situations. DO NOT GO TO THIS DR!!! There is a reason he is no longer co-head of the neuro science unit anymore like he was when I went to him. Btw he was late to my surgery by 2 hrs the whole team was just standing there outside my preoperative room waiting for him not knowing where he was even his pa who seemed extremely mad, he finally rushed in w a really really red face talking about he was in a meeting at 5am and that's why he was so late. Needless to say stay far away from him if u want something done right and not get lied to and put through unnecessary procedures kuz he messed up.

After Spinal cord surgery .I was paralyzed half of my body on the right side.I'm still suffering from leg pain ,lower back pain. and balance issues

He rushed the family's decision to go with surgery - never gave the family time alone to consider everything - he sat their with the part in the box that he was going to insert in her head during surgery and said it's a simple 15 minute procedure (total 1 hour with pre and post op) and she'll be eating cake by 5pm. It was roughly 3pm. The hour long procedure took more than 7 hours because he had to re-insert the part and we found out it was not correctly inserted the 2nd time either but to move it would cause even more damage. Would she have had quality and dignity of life if we opted to not let Mr. smoke a cigarette every hour Neuro boy butcher her? Heck Yes! This doctor's bedside manner and cocky attitude do not serve his profession well. I urge to to reconsider using this doctor.

Dr. Channelle change my life! All I can say is that I went to him with excruciating pain radiating down my right leg caused by an L5 S1one disc rupture. I would not wish that pain on my worst enemy. After his counseling and subsequent outpatient microdiscectomy procedure, my pain was gone. I highly recommend Dr. Channelle. He’s a good communicator, very knowledgeable, reviews all the options, and does a great job.

I had back surgery and now I am left with back pain that has come back after 6 months and numbness in my leg that hasn't gone away since my surgery. Dr. Chenelle didn't come into the room the last appointment I had with him. He sent his PA in instead. They basically wrote me off with no suggestions of what to do. When I asked for him, I was told he was too busy. Disappointed and in pain. I didn't feel like he had any bedside manner!

His stitching of the wound leaves something to be desired. I had a 'corepectomy', his idea, of my C5, 6 & 7. I have much, much greater range of motion than my friends who have had a traditional vertebrae fusion. Good guy! Try to get him to stop smoking. He needs to stay healthy to help those who need his expertise.

Dr. Chenelle knew right away I needed surgery. He was great from the beginning. He has a good sense of humor. He controlled my pain very well. If I needed more spinal surgery I would definitely choose him.
