Dr. Andrew Cumiskey, MD

Having been treated by my previous orthopedist for my right shoulder rotator cuff tears to no relief, I opted for Dr. Cumiskey. He treated my shoulder the way should be treated, that is, give injection directly on my painful spot where my previous doctor refused or not qualified to do. Now I feel much relief. In addition, Dr. Cumiskey is very knowledgeable and informative of my condition to my satisfaction. Now I am well on my way to physical therapy hopefully to a speedy recovery. Thanks Doc.

I believe that Dr. Cumisky is a good doctor. He came highly recommended. My problem is with his staff. They are rude, disrespectful and are the #1 reason that I canceled my surgery. I work in a middle school, I don't have to be subjected to the rudeness of Dr. Cumisky's staff. I found someone else to do my surgery and his staff is phenomenal. "The office staff makes a Doctor"

My wife and I chose Dr Cumiskey after extensive on-line research, for my hip replacement. I was looking for the most up to date method that has some proven track record. The SuperPATH procedure seemed to be the best available. Dr Cumiskey is the only game in town, literally, so we drove over and hour each way, 4 times after everything, but a small price to pay. The old war-horse traditionalists knock this new procedure on Web MD, but when I reached deep into the information, I could see it was based on skewed data and sour grapes. It encouraged me even more to proceed with Dr Cumiskey. He is a real gentleman, and answered all our questions and answered some we had failed to ask. He made it clear that is something became difficult during the surgery, he would revert to traditional methods, so it is win-win either way. We were in at the Centre at 6.30 am and back home in Baltimore by 3.00 pm the same day. I was not in any excessive pain and in fact I found Tylenol sufficient to get up… and go. Walking with my walker. The home assistance team came in the same afternoon to assess me at 5 pm. The lady saw me getting around and said, "How long ago did you have your surgery?" Read that as "days ago!" She almost did a backflip when my wife said, "About 5 hours ago." She had not heard of the SuperPATH procedure. Neither had the therapist who came to treat me. % sessions and he said I don't need him anymore. I was walking with a cane within a week. Two and a half weeks later, my Ryobi mower was pulling me around the garden. It is now 2 and a half months and people see me and say, "Weren't you supposed to have a hip replacement?" I just smile and do a little dance in front of them. The only ongoing pain I have is from the few internal stitches that are required, and that is diminishing steadily. Sitting on a hard chair is still an issue on that spot and sitting for a long time. So I get up and walk around. I am back to swimming 3 times a week, pain free. I can highly recommend Dr Cumiskey. Everything he said would happen, has happened. He did say not everyone is the same. There are many factors involved. But me? It has all gone perfectly. Thank you Dr Cumiskey and your great staff!

He has replaced both my left hip and my right knee and has done a fabulous job! And a great gentleman to boot! I recoment him with high honors!

Wouldn't trust anyone else with the care of myself and my family!

I can not speak more highly of Dr Cumiskey. I took my 9 year old to him following a Dirtbike accident and er visit. I was a little nervous seeing someone on the Eastern Shore and not just a pediatric Doctor. Dr Cumiskey was outstanding with my daughter. You would of thought pediatrics was his specialty. He examined her, looked at the scans from the Er and then sent us for a MRI. We left his office went and had the MRI then returned directly after. He took us right back and explained everything going on and what the plan of treatment would be. A week later we followed up and once again his knowledge and kindness was above and beyond. We follow up again in a couple weeks. He took his time each visit to answer all of my questions and made sure both me and my daughter understood what was going on. I am more then pleased with his care. I recommend this ortho dr to anyone! He is a very kind caring individual. Thank you Dr Cumiskey!

Doctor Cumiskey is in the profession he was meant to be in. If you're looking for someone that is intelligent, straightforward, professional, and excellent at what he does, then you have found him here. Additionally, he has a very knowledgable and experienced partner whom we also saw on occasion during two separate hospitalizations for broken bones that required surgery. The surgical results from Dr. Cumiskey have been excellent. His past experiences and education render him a very fine physician and surgeon.

Although I found this doctor to be competent in dealing with my medical problem, his office staff is responsible for me not returning and seeking an alternate physician. Due to billing problem on their end (that they were aware of and impacted multiple patients), my insurance was never billed, even though I had paid the deductible and it was totally covered because I had met my deductible for the year. They never sent me a bill, nor did they follow up on the problem. I heard nothing about it until I tried to make an appointment over a year later and they refused to see me until I paid my bill. I had to call my insurance company to have it resolved, and thankfully my insurance company agreed to pay it even though too much time had elapsed. This office offered me no help in resolving the issue they caused and expected me to pay out of pocket because of their incompetence. A doctor's office that refuses to even make an appointment for an existing patient in pain because of… their error? No thanks!
