Dr. Andrew R Curran, MD

Dr Curran replaced my right knee and it has done great! He replaced it with an Oxinium Total Knee instead of the Cobalt-Chromium Design. I have NOT had the trouble with Oxinium Total Knee that I did with Cobalt-Chromium Design in my left knee. I would recommend looking into Oxinium Total Knee if you are having problems with the Cobalt-Chromium Design I had my left knee replaced by another doctor and it took 3 times for them to figure out that I must be allergic to the metal the knee is made out of. If you are having a problem after surgery I would do some research about metal allergies.

I had my Right Knee worked on 2 years ago and loved Dr. Curran so much that I chose to return when I started to have the same issues in the Left side. He isn't quick to cut. He went through all options before we made the choice together to surgically fix the issue. He has a Wonderful Bedside Manner, His PA's are Out of the world! They are all fantastic. I suffer from Fibromyalgia and Degentive Bone Issues and he took this into consideration before presenting a surgical option. I would and have recommended him for all Family and Friends that need a Orthopedic Surgeon.

Disastrous total knee outcome

Dr. Curran diagnosed severe osteoarthritis in both knees, then took time to understand my lifestyle and what I wanted. He then performed two knee replacements three months apart. After one year the first knee is in excellent shape with minimal discomfort. I no longer take any pain meds for that knee. After 9 months the second knee still has some discomfort but still feels strong. I take some ibuprofen for that knee after a good workout. I believe it will be as good as the first after one year. I following rehab instructions and program vigorously and go to the gym regularly. I have lost 40_lbs. With the loss of pain I sleep better and have more peace -- I'm happier. The replacements are not as good as my original healthy knees but my knees are no longer a restriction to golf, walking, bike riding, whitewater rafting, climbing ladders, stairs, gardening, etc. I recommend that if you are seeking help for osteoarthritis in your knee(s) you should certainly consult with Dr. Curran. Working… together and with Mountain Land Physical Therapy in Nampa, we changed my life signficantly for the better.
