Dr. Andrew Louis Dalio, MD

A couple of years ago I accompanied a close friend to several appointments with plastic surgeons. She was in search of someone to perform a reconstruction after prophylactic breast removal. My friend is a very subjective and thorough researcher. She took me along to help her with the decision. After interviewing some of the most highly regarded surgeons we both agreed that Dr. Da Lio was the best choice. Her experience from beginning to end was excellent. His demeanor, bedside manner and follow up procedures were spot on. If I ever had to go through a similar experience he would be my first choice.

It is rare to find a doctor with both exceptional skills as a surgeon with an attentive and kindhearted demeanor to his patients. I did my due diligence and visited 4 plastic surgeons to perform my breast reconstruction before choosing Dr. Da Lio. He came highly recommended to me from health specialists and he did not disappoint. He came across knowledgeable, yet confident. He was the only PS to suggest doing a minor operation before my prophylactic mastectomy/reconstruction to avoid nipple necrosis. He is punctual and personable, while spending time with you at office visits. My newly constructed breasts by Dr. Da Lio look fabulous and real. Who knew beautiful breasts could give a woman so much more confidence! He used a 475cc implant. It is difficult to create breasts w/ no breast tissue. In 5 years, I may need to swap out my implants for newer ones. Although, I moved out of the LA area, I have no hesitation to drive the 450 miles to have Dr. Da Lio perform the surgery, rather than… look for another doctor in the Bay Area. There are few doctors of his caliber. Go see Dr. Da Lio for your breast surgery; he is the best in his field.

Does not treat patients with kindness and hides behind the excuse of "telling it like it is" to insult patients and put them down. Does not care for you, only your wallet and what credit it will bring him. Horrible human being.

Astounding disregard for patient welfare. Denied me urgent medical assistance for a potentially fatal condition and thereby significantly increased my chances of death. If lawsuits weren't so costly and time-consuming, I would 100% pursue one.

I needed a plastic surgeon to repair my breast reconstruction. The radiation made my skin too thin so I had to get a back flap surgery to replace the skin that was about to tear. Dr. Da Lio is very kind and caring. He took time to explain the process to me and answered all my questions. I was dreading the procedure because it sounded horrible -- taking a piece of skin from my back to cover the thin skin on my breast, remove the old implant and replace it. Dr. Da Lio did excellent work. I had very little pain and my breasts look so much better. I am very happy with the results.

I had a bi-lateral radical mastectomy, not because of cancer. It was done prophylactically in 2011 because I tested positive for the BRCA mutation. I insisted upon having a well known oncologist present to be sure that the risk of breast cancer was eliminated. As it turned out I didn't need her there. Dr. Da Lio did the double mastectomy and removed the remaining breast tissue that the other surgeon had left behind. He's an outstanding physician on so many levels.

Explained the entire process for a delayed double mastectomy (done with Dr. Helena Change...also wonderful) and my experience so far (I have had the first two surgeries ... one more to go) has been great with the doctors. There is a reason I came to UCLA .... the best care. I do not live in CA and both doctors have been great in coordinating my care.

Initially, I felt Dr. Dalio was very distant, but soon realized he was very focused on doing the right thing. Dr. Dalio emerges to a warm caring doctor who is very, very skilled and devoted to the science and art of reconstructive surgery. I went to see Dr. Dalio after another doctor reconstructed my post breast cancer, post radiation right breast with an implant (and a second implant in my non-cancer left breast). Unfortunately, the first doctor did a very imbalanced job leaving one breast 3 cm higher and much smaller than my other breast. The first doctor also left horrendous scarring on my left non-cancer breast. I asked doctor Dalio to equalize and provide harmony and balance between my two breasts; he is dedicated to creating the best result possible. The scars from Dr. Dalio are very minimal; they are amazing. I truly appreciate and care for this very fine doctor; I will never forget him.

Dr. Da Lio performed breast reconstruction surgery on me after being diagnosed with breast cancer. He is a wonderful doctor and surgeon. He has a calm, warm and gentle disposition. He takes pride in his work and is very skilled, talented, and disciplined. Other doctors say that he's an artist. I trusted him implicitly and am so happy with my results.

Very temperamental, which would be OK if the work was well -done. Unfortunately, my surgery was a complete disappointment, necessitating further surgery with another doctor. A very bad decision for me and I do not recommend this doctor on any level.
