Dr. Andrew John Duffy, MD

I had Dr. Duffy perform a stomach reduction surgery 4 years ago. I have lost over 100 lbs and counting !!! He is fair and serious yet cares that you will have a great result. I would recomend Dr. Duffy to anyone who can"t lose weight and has tried everything else.

This is my opinion, please make up your own mind. I will never go back to this person, he was arrogant, rude, insulting, vindictive, and clearly not up on all of the latest procedures. How he is the head of the barbaric surgery department, I don't know. Also taking advice on weight loss and weight loss surgery from a doctor who hasn't managed his own weight issues makes you really wonder. Not only did he arrive at our scheduled appointment over an hour late, and then didn't apologize. He proceeded to imply I was lying about my own treatment plan with a differ doctor from 2007 when he wasn't there and was not part of my treatment. He only wants you to be a lemming. And wants to punish all those who are not. He violated my patient rights and I will be filing a formal complaint tomorrow with New Haven Health Services. The impress I got was he could care less about the patient and their concerns, only about $ and how he could get more of it while doing the least about of… work, and then wanted to be fawned all over.

Dr. Duffy is not only an excellent surgeon, but also takes the time to answer questions before and after surgery. He waits patiently after asking if you have any more questions to give you time to rethink all the questions you forgot. I was very concerned having emergency surgery. Dr. Duffy and his assistant calmed my fears both in the office, and in the hospital. I rate him very high and recommend him.

Had bariatric surgery by this man and he is truly incredible!!

Waited over an hour for a five minute appointment.

At first I was very intimidated by Dr. Duffy. I was reffered to him because of having marginal ulcers that are not cured through medication. He had to preform a partial gastrectomy. He has had to admit me to the hospital many times. He makes me feel comfortable and he cracks jokes now. I am def more at ease now. He is a great surgeon. I travel far to go see him.

Just want to say he is a wonderful doctor. The reviews scared me to meet him because they indicated his personality was cold. Here is what I will tell you. He is competent, and easy to talk to. You leave your consultation knowing he knows exactly what has to be done. He made the entire process of my mom having surgery and being scared so easy because we knew he was in control. End note: surgery a success!

I just had abdominal surgery with Dr. Duffy about a week ago. I was very pleased with his ability to communicate using verbiage that was easy to understand. He was very calming in the hospital and explained everything step by step. I would recommend Dr. Duffy without any hesitation.
