Dr Freedie shows compassion and is willing to take the time and listen to the needs of his patients. He is MUCH more than a Dr looking to make as much money as possible during a day. He will work with you and challenge you to be a better person. I considered him a friend just as much as a Dr.

I'm a former patient of Dr. Friede's from when was practicing in Alabama. I absolutely cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Friede and his treatment! He is extremely knowledgeable about medications and addiction treatment, as well as common medical practice. He is genuinely concerned for his patients mental health illnesses and treating those problems while assuring them every step of the way. He encouraged me continuously to give up unhealthy lifestyle choices including diet, adequate rest, urged me to limit my smoking a little at a time with the help of craving reduction aids in a way that wasn't sudden and didn't feel forced. He is very professional and thorough, as well as down to earth and caring. A sincere and kind human being. I've had several doctors throughout my history of MAT, and none of them ever took the time to actually care about my recovery and treatment or mental well-being like Dr. Friede did. All they ever did was see my face, sign my prescription, and take… my money. Dr. Friede actually LISTENED to me, called me PERSONALLY to check on me after my surgery from a work related injury, and was extremely patient and compassionate trying different combinations of medications that would work efficiently in treating my "long covid". It was a tough time in my life, and Dr. Friede was a huge factor in pulling me out of my misery and suffering. If you've ever been in a dark place in your life, you know how significant it can be to have someone who cares about your physical and mental well-being. If it weren't for Dr. Friede I might not be here today. I'm forever grateful for him and absolutely recommend him!!! His team of counselors and staff were also very caring and compassionate people, kind of like a second family. My appointments were always quick, but never rushed, and always a pleasant experience!!! If he didn't move out of state I'd still be a patient.

I am a former patient of Dr. Friede's when he worked here in Alabama. I was sad to see him go as we had built a great relationship. He is very thorough in his approach and also very personable. I could even ask his opinion on topics other than what I was actually being seen for. Dr. Friede is an excellent doctor who cares about his patients, and it is evident in how he treats each one. As a colleague, I have known Dr. Andrew Friede for several years when he was in Birmingham, AL as a highly knowledgeable and competent physician, with a wide range of experience and knowledge, especially in the areas of Addiction, Mental Health, and Overweight. He is honest, polite, humble, and caring. As a colleague, I enjoyed many discussions with him and was impressed with his generosity and his brilliant mind. A lecture on obesity he gave at our APPA semiannual meeting was illuminating and memorable and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. The patients I referred to him actually all liked him, reported feeling listened to, and actually steadily lost weight and reduced their smoking or alcohol habits in a positive and enduring way, surprising both them and me. They named his compassion for them and their life dilemmas, and the thoroughness of his assessments and evaluations as his most impressive attributes. I fully agree, and highly recommend him as a caring and trustworthy… physician!
