Dr. Andrew Todd Goldstein, MD

For sooo many years I dealt with vaginal pain-mostly in my clitoris. I thought it was the result of a uti so I would get antibiotics to treat that. I never got any better and was suffering a lot and could never think of having sex. I went to gynecologists, urologists and dermatologists yet no one could figure out where the source of my pain was coming from and so I was in limbo for years. FINALLY I came across the vulvo institute and got an appointment at Dr. Andrew Goldstein’s office in NYC. After a test he did on me, he sent me to get a MRI which then lead to the diagnosis of a tarlov cyst on s2 (my left butt cheek). Separately I had been going to a chiropractor for a pain on my sacroiliac joint but he never sent me on MRI. The cyst is pressing on the nerve endings which is what’s causing my clitoris to have so much pain. Everything is connected! Now that I found out what I have, I can deal with it. There aren’t many doctors that perform this surgery but he referred me to a… specialist that has done this surgery. Thanks to this doctor, I have hope now that I can live a normal life. It was worth the money for the visit! I will post an update once I get my surgery.

I saw Dr. Goldstein for vulvar vestibulitis. However I had more widespread pain in that area, which made me not an ideal candidate for the vestibulectomy, which he pushes aggressively on patients. I had trouble speaking up and explaining my symptoms to him, as can happen with arrogant, domineering doctors. And he didn't take the time to ask questions. I was able to tell him once though about my more widespread pain, and he brushed it off, explaining that the nerves were just fired up due to the vestibulitis and the surgery would resolve it. So I had the surgery. My pain only spread more and got worse. I also had complications with bartholin's glands. Worst of all, the trauma of the surgery led me to develop severe overall body pain and fatigue. All in all, this surgery has ruined my life. I understand the surgery helps some people. But the danger of going to Dr. Goldstein is that he has tunnel vision about it, and is unable to recognize when the surgery is likely to harm… someone rather than help. He touts a 99% success rate, which just isn't true. He doesn't listen to his patients.

Dr. Goldstein I would say yes is brilliant but does come with flaws as all human beings do. When I first met Dr. Goldstein my fiancé and I were so impressed considering that no doctor was able to help me in the 12 years that I was suffering. It’s now 17 years I’m suffering and my husband and I are completely disappointed in the outcome of my vulva vestibulectomy. You see I am completely disabled now and prior to my surgery I was able to work, have somewhat of a sex life and yes walk with out an assitive device. You see further testing should have been done on me because it turned out that I was suffering from Pudendal neuralgia, interstitial cystitis and a autoimmune disease. Dr. Goldstein bundles woman I feel all into the same category. The reason he couldn’t cure me and help me after his procedure and I must say he did try was because he initially didn’t do enough testing on me. So after the surgery my pain became extremely worse. I lost my career and so much more. I can’t consemate… my marriage. I just recently got married. I’m lucky I have the man in my life that I do. I can only hope that Dr. Goldstein actually reads this and understands this is not a hurtful review but one I hope he can learn from as for i have stated before every one has flaws. As for others that read this. My only advice to you is don’t jump right into surgery unless you are 100% on your diagnosis. Get another opinion. I was told once if I was cut I would get worse. I didn’t listen

Dr Andrew Goldstein is the best doctor! He is worth the money. I saw several specialists across the country who could not diagnose or help me. Dr Goldstein did a thorough exam. He know right away what I had and prescribed the correct medicine which helped me.

Finally I found help.

Two years since my surgery and am just about pain free! Just gets better and better. Now preggo and happy. Dr G changed my life. If only he knew how often hubby and I say still thank him out loud- and my new guyno says he knows him personally and he has cured his patients. I am so glad I saw him!

He is hands down the best doctor I have seen for my condition that no one could diagnose. Worth every penny and I wish I saw him a long time ago so I wouldn't have lost 3 years of my life and having to quit my job so I could spend my life and money going from one doctor to the next..Thank you Dr. Goldstein.
