From a very young age, Dr. Andrew Harner was raised in Orange County. He attended the University of California, Irvine (UCI) where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. After working for a state-of-the-art medical device company and obtaining a Master’s degree from Boston University, he returned to California to attend dental school at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). After graduating, Dr. Harner completed an additional three years of training at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco, (UCSF) specializing in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. In addition to obtaining his specialty certification at UCSF, Dr. Harner obtained a second Master’s Degree in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. He was in private practice in the San Francisco Bay area before returning to southern California and establishing his private practice in Huntington Beach. Dr. Harner is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics …(ABO).
Dr. Harner has done extensive research in tissue engineering, tissue derived anticoagulants, dental adhesive systems, and three-dimensional craniofacial imaging strategies resulting in publications in professional journals. He has also lectured to dental professionals on multidisciplinary orthodontic treatment. He is currently the Case Report Editor for the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists journal, The Bulletin, and is a Board Member of the California Association of Orthodontists. He has been voted by his peers as a Top Dentist in Orange Coast Magazine for 2009 and 2010.
Dr. Harner enjoys being back in Orange County and being involved in various community and civic activities such as sponsoring AYSO Soccer, Little League baseball, Cheerleading and Marching Bands, and supporting local schools, and organizing food drives for the SOS Clinic and toy drives for the Toys for Tots. Dr. Harner is passionate about his work, and loves spending time with his wife, two sons, and daughter. His hobbies include coaching his son’s soccer team, running, reading, cooking, and of course, having fun at the beach
