Dr. Andrew Steven Hobbs, DDS

My son has been going to Dr. Hobbs for years, until we moved. Leaving Dr. Hobbs' office was the worst thing about moving out of town! We'll miss you and your staff!

Assistants repeatedly tell children to shut up and put their hands over their mouths. I have witnessed them standing over children with their faces a few inches from the child's face telling them they better shut up right now. Using foul language and telling them that this is the reason they are there because they are cry babies (when referred by another dentist because they are apprehensive). If your child is scared to go to the dentist, do not send them here. The experience with Dr. Hobbs and his assistants will make it worse. I encourage other dentists to think twice before sending any of your patients here. I hear Cool Smiles is good with children. I was fortunate to have a wonderful dentist and my children were never apprehensive about going to the dentist

My 6 year old daughter had a routine pediatric dental apt for two cavity fillings. During the visit we are told (parents) that the office does not allow parents back while providing treatment to the patient. The doctor had me go back after xray's were taken to explain what he was going to do to fill the cavities and then sent me back into the waiting room to wait for my daughter to be finished. After the appointment the doctor walked my 6 year old daughter out to the checkout and said everything went good. My daughter at that time was acting a little strange and I thought maybe it was from the nitrous however as soon as we left the building she began to cry and my husband asked her what was wrong. My daughter then explained that the doctor was being mean to her and we asked her to explain. She stated that the doctor placed his hands over her mouth firmly while the nitrous was over her nose and she couldn't breathe, she began to cry and the doctor was telling her to stop crying and she… was squirming around in her chair to get loose. I tried calling the office to speak with anyone there after the procedure and the secretary stated she wasn't aware of their procedures only works in the front office and asked if I would like the doctor to call me back. With this not feeling right both my husband and I made the decision of calling and making a police report. The investigator/prosecuting officer also stated there were other reports made against this dentist going all the way back to 2003. I am very concerned with this doctors behavior and the safety of other children.
