Dr Klafter just kept changing our son's meds, cold turkey, one after another. Our son texted Dr Klafter that he was having suicidal thoughts, " I am lost and need some help. Any plans?? or other medicines? or anything? Advice? " That was on Sept 23,2017 On Sept 26th He messaged again "Still don't have an appointment with you , Do we have a plan? " His reply was "can you see me this Friday at 8:45am." My son took his life that night.....you be the judge ,I have the text messages on my sons phone

Dr. Klafter provided adequate attention during sessions, but I suffered with mis-scheduled appointments, incorrectly prescribed medications (quantities) and a general lack of accountability - notability during a hospitalization where he did not respond to communications from hospital staff. This eventually culminated with a complete unresponsiveness to voicemails left. No response to emails left. Could not recommend this provider, particularly if you're in crisis.

Dr. Klafter is an excellent physician. I have a very good job but became so depressed, I felt that I was going to be forced to resign due to my inability to carry on. I called Dr. Klafter in desperation and he saw me within three days. Dr. Klafter was always bright and positive with me. He utilized medication very effectively. He gave me very good advice that assisted me in coming through my very serious depression. He was available to me in emergencies. One evening, I called him late in the evening and he responded to my call immediately. By the end of 8 sessions, I was again functional and stronger than ever. He assisted me in developing skills that I still use and these skills are helping me to remains free of depression. Thank you Dr. Klafter.

Took me a long time to get an appointment but when I finally did he helped me so much. I was super depressed and suicidal. I was obese from being on way too many meds, and so tired all day from sleep apnea. He took me off most of them. He actually does his own therapy, so more 15 minute med checks. Nicest guy, and he's a Orthodox Jew, which I think is really cool.

Great physician. Really helped me. He's really different than most psychiatrists.

Expensive but worth it.

I was diagnosed with a many different things by different psycologists and MD psychiatrists. He saved my life. They said I was bipolar, schizophrenic, multiple personalities, you name it. He saw me for therapy twice a week for over three years, then once a week. I was on 5 different medications before I saw him. Now I am only on one antidepressant. The only negative thing I can say is he is expensive because he won't take any insurance. Also he is very busy and he sometimes won't take new patients. I would recommend anyone who is getting different a different diagnosis from everyone who evaluted you or who is taking lots of medications that don't really help you to see someone like Dr. Klafter. He knows other doctors who are good. My boyfriend needed a therapist and we wanted Dr. Klafter to treat him too, but he wouldn't because he said it could be a conflict, but he sent him to another really good therapist who is trained like Dr. Klafter is.
