Dr Bagley utsw screwed up literally putting a screw in my SKULL. Then Bagley said I just wanted meds. Thank GOD I found Dr Konen.. He found the screw on x-ray and gave me copies of it to take to a Good orthopaedic surgeon... Dr Rashbaum TBI.. "TEXAS BACK INSTITUTE" FIXED THE PROBLEM... The utsw and VA Wouldn't or didn't care to find what Carlos Bagley done to me.. The Bagley the S.O.B. .HAD nerve to say it was drugs I wanted. Well Bagley contact Konen he can show you where you f'd me up. I only wish I could take the screw back to Bagley, Thanks Dr Konen... Hope to see you again some day to carry on my treatment...

I had been to several Dr.'s with my neck issues. Not only did Dr Konen find the problem, he gave me copies of his xrays to take to Dr Rashbaum so I could get surgery to remove a screw that was in the base of my SKULL. Thank GOD he found it as I was having severe pain and head aches. He be lived me when others said I just wanted meds... He an excellent Dr... Great guy overall to.. Thanks to him I'm not suffering from those problems any longer...

I started seeing Dr. Konen over 15 years ago. For the first few years, I would have told you Dr. Konen walked on water with me. His staff was absolutely horrible, but Dr. Konen was amazing. It's obvious his staff, Baylor Healthcare and the Federal Government trying to play doctor with pain medications have taken it's toll on him. He has regressed to the level of his horrible office staff. Charges, especially for lab work, are disgraceful. I believe Dr. Konen owns part of the lab. All compassion for his patients is gone. Expect to face horrible withdrawal symptoms if your insurance changes or if the federal government changes opiate restrictions. You will get absolutely no consideration for having to "cold turkey" stop your opiate medications. It is a given that sooner or later, you will be left with no medication, no matter how sick it makes you. Not to mention the onset of symptoms that you were taking the meds for.

Dr. Andrew A. Konen has been a God send to me and my family. I have a traumatic brain injury that left me with many issues and in disabling pain. After seeing many doctors in FTW and being misdiagnosed we went to see Dr. Konen. It was my last attempt to get help before flying to another state. Dr. Konen assessed me, broke down each issue, made a plan, and saved me. Dr.Konen has been spot on with every diagnosis keeping me progressing towards what was considered impossible. Dr. Konen does not only find the issues he works back from the issues in order to make certain to address every single one of them and adds to your team of specialists as you need. There are not many doctors that take the time necessary to untangle a patient’s situation let alone monitor and encourage the patient. Dr. Konen is such a doctor. He is the smartest man in the room and I am forever grateful for all he does. If not for Dr. Konen I don’t know if I would be here today.

If you want to be treated like crap then go to this office!!! Dr Konen has NO IDEA what his staff are like because if he did they probably wouldn’t have a job!!! I don’t suggest this office to ANYONE!

Dr. Konen is an amazing Dr. He often deals with some of the most difficult patients to treat, those that others Dr.s "give up" on due to their inability to figure out the patient's "diagnosis". Finding a Dr. in his field that has both insight into complex issues coupled with genuine compassion and care for his patients is about as rare as all of my strange medical issues. I can attest that he definitely exists though, so never lose hope.

When I initially started treating with Dr. Konen, I received excellent service and care. As the years have passed, I have received poor service. This past year I received a bill of over $3000 for a lab test that generated from a urine test. I wrote Dr. Konen a personal letter asking him to respond to me and he never did. I never heard from anyone in his office. On my last visit, I spoke to a woman who had an over $8000 Lab bill. She was in tears. She was on disability and couldn’t pay. You can’t get meds refilled without the lab test but they don’t tell you the lab test will exceed $3-$8000. It is a scam. I would beware if you have a high deductible plan as you will be responsible. It is sad because I love Baylor. I have had nothing but positive experiences but this is just shameful. They do not care about the financial impact on their patients. People who see pain management doctors are in pain. I have spent thousands trying to have quality of life and it’s sad this is… the treatment you get. I have never seen a doctor who flat ignores his patients so this was a first for me. This communicates to me that I am not a patient but a way to make more money. His staff all play dumb and say they don’t know anything. I tried mailing, emailing, faxing and calling.

Patients Beware - You will be over-charged a FORTUNE and SCAMMED! StarHealth Group Holdings, LP and their multiple shell companies under the direct supervision of Dr. Konen, Chris Hettich, CEO, and Mason Maltz (Chief Revenue Officer) run an extensive, organized scam to defraud the US government, the State of Texas and unsuspecting insured patients and elderly. Here's how they do it.. StarHealth incentivizes physician groups they work with, such as Konen and Associates (see names below), to prescribe unnecessary and extremely expensive urine drug screens and compound pharmacy prescriptions to nearly all patients they see. Andy Konen, M.D. Brian Flanagan, M.D. Amanda Toye, M.D. David Keelen, M.D. StarHealth then forms an LLC (Let's call it KonenStar, LLC) with the physician group and directs all prescriptions to crooked labs (Sanitas and Salutaris) and compounding pharmacies (Boerne Drug) that will overcharge patient's health insurance. Then these crooked… entities report that they pay StarHealth for "Revenue Cycle Analytics" though it is actually for each prescription they send. StarHealth then washes the dirty money and pays it back to the physicians through "KonenStar" after taking a sizeable chunk. Patient's are left with huge outstanding medical bills and the taxpayers end up holding the bag for all the defrauding of Medicare and Medicaid. Chris Hettich, Mason Maltz, Andy Konen, M.D, StarHealth and the rest of the people involved in this scam have stolen over $20 MILLION in revenue.

I was referred to Dr. Konen by my neurologist after a solid month of migraines. I told the neurologist we needed to do something diagnostic to see if we were missing something or treating the wrong problem. "What if I just needed antibiotics for a sinus infection?" He said, "ok, we can do an MRI." I made sure the film went to Dr. Konen as well. The neuro then reported I had had a small stroke, start baby aspirin, but it was not causing the headaches. I told Dr. Konen I had had a small stroke, and he told me, "yeah, and you have a chronic sinus infection and you need to see an ENT." He gave me a referral, I got antibiotics, sinus surgery and my septum straightened. I could give many more examples of how Dr. Konen treated me as a whole person and helped me get appropriate treatment. My oncology team had no idea why I was having screaming pain post radiation. Dr. Konen knew exactly what it was and how to treat it, and had even warned me ahead of time to look out for it. (I forgot for a… while.) I have many medical problems and several (7+) doctors, and Dr. Konen is my MVP.
