Dr. Andrew Stuart Levy, MD

I've been extremely impressed with Dr. Levy. I had a unilateral knee replacement combined with repair of torn ACL. The recovery process has been lengthy, but during the journey Dr. Levy has been extremely supportive, professional and answered my endless questions kindly and eloquently. I would not hesitate to recommend him to any potential patient

Got angry for no reason and very unprofessional when asked questions . Not professional but secure horizon insurance made me go to him. Better of finding a different doctor

Dr. Levy is the epitome of professionalism. He has treated my family of four.He reconstructed by son's knee which has enabled him to compete in the Olympics. My daughter placed 6th in the World Sumo Championships after having her shoulder operated on by doc Levy.

The TV was blasting in the waiting room. I was the only patient there. I made the mistake of turning off the TV myself instead of asking the staff. One of the staff turned it back on using the remote. Then we had a little argument about having the TV on. She claimed it was for the "entertainment of the patients" and insisted that it had to be on. Having it off was merely "my preference". Then I got to see Dr. Levy. He seemed angry about something. He was brusque, interrupted me when I asked a question, and kept saying I didn't understand the precise reasons for getting an MRI of my hip. For example, he corrected me when I made this innocuous comment: "Well, it will be good to find out what's going on in there". At one point, he even said he "didn't give a sh@t" about something. At the end of the visit, I made the mistake of asking him about a different bone-related issue. He told me in no uncertain terms that I was doing the worst thing possible, asking a doctor for his opinion on… a subject that isn't his or her specialty and which he wasn't qualified to answer (My question: "Is surgery often done for bone spurs in the foot?". He specializes in arms and legs. I'm not actually sure he understood my question, but it was that kind of difficult conversation almost from beginning to end.) While waiting for the MRI to be scheduled, I asked him if I could speak to him about something else. He said "no". I then said I wanted to discuss the TV issue. He then severely criticized my failure to ask the staff to turn off the TV, instead of pushing the off button myself. "How would you like it if I came to your house and drove your car?" Gosh, I thought the TV was for the entertainment of the patients (of which there were no more than two present at any time, including me). Given the absurdly high sound level, I assume the TV is there for the entertainment of the staff. I then told Dr. Levy that he had the worst bedside manner of any doctor I've ever visited. Talking fast, interrupting, constantly correcting my choice of words. I assume he was already angry about the TV thing when he came into the examining room. It would have been better if he'd said so up front, and declined to treat me if he wanted to, instead of acting like a jerk throughout our visit. He said he was willing to treat me. I said "I don't think so" and left. I will obviously see a different orthopedist in the future. So Dr. Levy might be a great doctor, aside from his personality. The treatment plan (the MRI) he recommended made sense. But, whatever you do, remember to ask politely if you want the TV to be turned off. And if you want to listen to a cooking chat show at very high volume for a half hour or so, you'll probably be fine.

I tore my ACL and Meniscus twice Doctor don't wish to mention his name messed me up twice. I had to do surgery a 3rd time to correct the mistakes from the first doctor. THANK GOD i was introduced to Dr. Levy who corrected the issue and had me up and running in no time. I fell 100% after he was done with me.HE is the BEST.He is the GREATEST. Dr. Levy you made me new again.He who speak less- knows a whole lot.

After reading all these negative reviews I had to tell you. These reviews are not true. Dr. Levy did a meniscus transplant on me 12 years ago and I loved having him as my doctor. I had no problems with him at all and he was so compansionate. I really wish that I could find a doctor now that I live in Florida that I feel as comfortable with as I did with him. I wish I could go back up to NJ just so that I could go to him again.

Dr. Levy was so arrogant

I had arthroscopic knee surgery done by Dr. Levy and went for a follow up visit and told him about the problems I was having after the surgery. He went off the handle and acted very unprofessionally by yelling at me. His behavior made me cry and I never went back to him.

After reading several bad reviews, I had to write. Dr Levy may be a lets get to the point kind of Dr. But he is the best. He did my shoulder 6 yrs ago, torn rotator cuff. Short recovery time and good as new. I am not a big name sports guy but I teach skydiving and was fearful my jump days were over. He treated my shoulder perfectly and made me feel like I was his most important patient. 6 years later shoulder 100%. Still jumping, my brother, same surgery different Dr, no longer jumping. I can't say enough good things about him.

I have had many problems with Dr. Levy from the very beginning. I should have noticed the tell tale signs of a horrible and unprofessional surgeon, but as this was my first surgery, I did not. When I was in the car on the way home from surgery I started to vomit a little. Once I returned home after surgery I was profusely vomiting, which I thought would go away after a while. As it got progressively worse I decided to page Dr. Levy to possibly obtain medication to stop the vomiting. I discovered what Dr. Levy was really all about when he FINALLY returned my page. His words went something like this (and keep in mind I could barely talk because I was vomiting so often)- He basically told me that I was interrupting his dinner and that it was not right that I was doing so. I really did not want to argue as he kept on telling me that it was too late and I shouldn't have paged him. I actually started crying so my amazing sister took the phone and finally got him to order Zofran! I discovered… later that the vomiting was from the anesthesia. They rushed me out of the surgery center so quickly, had I stayed for another five minutes they could have given me medication, since I started vomiting five minutes after I left. This is but one of my horrible experiences with Dr. Levy. Please Please Please Please, I beg you not to see this Doctor!!! Their are many many wonderful surgeons out there. Stay clear of this one!!!
