Dr. Andrew Joseph Lovell, DO

Dr Lovell is an excellent physician.

Had a deep finger cut that needed stitches. Dr. Lovell was gentle throughout the process. Discussed which method of anesthesia I'd prefer, checked if my finger was numb enough before proceeding. Warned me not to jerk away my hand when he'd stick the needle in, otherwise he'd have to do it again. Asked me if I was feeling bad enough for him to stop stitching, told me when he had one more stitch to go so I'd feel better. Tried to make conversation but I was too woozy. Very happy with his bedside manner and his conduct.

I saw Dr. Lovell twice. The first day I came in crying at 6:00 am in the morning (thank goodness for that CareNow's extended flu & cold season hours) b/c the antibiotics I'd been given by a different doctor for a throat infection weren't working and OTC pain meds were no longer having any affect. Dr. Lovell was so kind and there was genuine sympathy in his eyes, especially after he looked at the horror that was my tonsils. He listened to me, checked me out as gently as possibly (had swollen glands and lymph nodes too, always fun) and then said he'd like to check for mono (just to be safe) and ASKED if I'd be okay with a steroid shot--instead of just ordering one. I mean, it was clear he recommended it, but he didn't presume. (And I'm a needlephobic so I really appreciated that, but the pain was bad enough I said yes anyway.) When all the testing and needle fun was over (which the nurse, Jason, was VERY nice and gentle about), Dr. Lovell came back in and told me he wanted me to follow… up the next day when things were less swollen so he could make sure he hadn't missed anything (like a hidden abscess, ugh). He also told me if I continued to feel worse that day instead of better, to go to the ER. Fortunately, I felt better. I went back this morning and he was still just as kind even though my eyes were no longer leaking. He's one of those doctors that makes you feel like a person as opposed to just another number on the docket. He then told me to call immediately if I started feeling worse and asked if I had the number. I assured him I could find it on the internet, but he insisted on giving me a card and wrote, "Please call if you need anything." The card says he's the medical director at this CareNow, and I couldn't think of a better person to be so. Even though this CareNow is a bit further away than my usual one, I may end up going here and requesting him. It is far too rare to find a doctor with excellent bedside manner AND whose skills you feel confident in.

If your not a hand specialist send them out to another doctor .Can't stand this doctor!!!!!

Dr Andrew Lovell, DO was Excellent. His bedside manner was awesome. He took very great care of the needs of my child. He did not rush us and was very patient with us, even on his tight schedule. His supporting staff was great also! Thank You !

Very attentive. Took his time and listened, didn't hurry appointment indicating he cared and wasn't just trying to hurry to the next patient ---- which makes you feel like you can trust him.
