Dr. Andrew Steven Lustbader, MD

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Lustbader. Dr. Lustbader, along with Dr. Stephanie Ehrman, were hired by my child’s school for an evaluation. They misdiagnosed my child with a serious disorder without being able to back the diagnosis when asked. This diagnosis had very clear criteria which very obviously did not fit my child. When I wrote to them asking specifically how my child met the criteria for that diagnosis, they silently removed it from the next draft of report and replaced the diagnosis with something more vague. My story has a happy ending. My kid is doing just fine, doesn’t have that disorder, and got the help they actually need. But I shudder to think what would’ve happened if their treatment for a condition my child didn’t have was followed. He will only give you the exact amount of time he is scheduled for, then disappear.

dr. Lustbader put my daughter on a dangerous drug that had many side effects that we were not aware of. Sadly he did not keep up with the manufactures warnings and he did not know of the side effects either. THREE YEARS OF OUR LIVES WERE RUINED BECAUSE OF HIS IGNORANCE.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lustbader for several years during which time he has and continues to successfully treat me for anxiety and depression. My experience with him has only been positive as I find him to be extremely competent, highly attentive and compassionate, and very accessible. Prior to Dr. Lustbader, I received treatment from a number of other psychiatrists during which time my symptoms didn't diminish. Dr. Lustbader quickly helped me identify and understand my underlying issues and develop coping strategies that have literally saved my life. I was recommended to Dr. Lustbader by a friend who was also a client his and who had a similar, highly positive experience.

Dr Lustbader was our daughter's psychiatrist for four years. Not only did he completely misdiagnose our daughter, he gave her medication that induced mania--even after we had given him a thorough family history which included bipolar disorder. Dr Lustbader is the most arrogant doctor we have ever encountered. BEWARE!!!

dr lustbader volunters his time at yale. he sees no patients there, just wants the yale name. he misdiagnosed my son. please stay away.

Dr. Lustbader diagnosed my son with ADHD and said if we don't put him on medication, he could become a drug addict (specified cocaine) in 5 years. He's 10 now. My son is a straight A student with some social issues but he's a happy kid. I don't appreciate scare tactics or drug pushers. What's in it for him? Why couldn't he accept my request to try alternate methods of treatment? He's a quack.
