Dr. Andrew C Mcafee, MD

Dr. McAfee takes time to listen and is very friendly. He is intelligent and well-informed medically. Every course of treatment he has proscribed has been right on target.

He is great. He really listens, openly shares his thought process, takes time to answer questions, and genuinely takes patients' input into account. Plus he is funny and super nice.

I had a bad cough so I went in and was told to "keep drinking tea" and was given a baby bottle of cough syrup because I was unable to sleep due to the coughing. I asked for a chest x-ray and was told it was not necessary. When I used up my cough syrup 2 days early I was treated like a drug addict or something by the Dr. I ended up having pneumonia and the misdiagnosis led to me being hospitalized twice, missing work, and 2 months later I am still recovering. Also, the Dr. lied straight to my face on two separate occasions. He told me one thing (blaming the pharmacy) and I went to the pharmacy. They told me what my Dr. had told them which was COMPLETELY opposite. He had just used them as a scapegoat. The staff is great and getting an appointment is easy enough but as my primary physician I entrusted my health to him and was let down severely. Additionally, he is not understanding of the realities of anxiety disorders and frankly very judgmental. He will tell you one thing and either… NOT do it all together or place blame on someone else.

Most Dr.s can take a page out of Dr. McAfee's book on how to treat patients.

Arrogant, self serving. Fails to recommend important tests; does not like to 'touch' people - afraid he may catch something. He should not be working in the medical field.

Nice guy. Listens and understands me. Doesn't order unnecessary tests. Makes good eye contact. I like him!

I am always impressed at Dr. Mcafee's bedside manner. He spends time with myself and my children on our appointments. He follows up and asks us how they are doing and even walks us out to the main lobby. He is always informative, prompt, respectful, and stays current with his medical knowledge. He offers us resources and information at every visit. He is a great physician and truly caes about his patients!
