Dr. Andrew Thomas Mcgown, MD

I have been seeing him for over a year and I have been very pleased, he is very knowledgeable and concerned. They do move fast but I would certainly recommend him for knee problems.

Dr. McGown is a, by far, the most thoughtful, considerate, respectful, consummate professional, and his bedside manner is above reproach. I’ve never felt more valued as a patient, than when I visit Dr. Gown’s office; and most importantly, he’s very patient and knowledgeable... Luke is great too!!!

Dr McGowan helped me through a painful knee and this time around has done a excellent job with a hip full of bursitis. He is kind, gentle and a very good Doctor.

After 2 visits, i’m still unsure of what’s going on with my knee. Initially during my first visit, I was given a referral for pt and harassed to purchase some expensive cream from an out of town pharmacy without even knowing my diagnosis. During my second visit, I was told I needed an MRI, got the MRI and I still got questions. Dr. McGowan didn’t take the time to properly explain my diagnosis and treatment. After literally running him down, I got a scientific explanation which I do not understand. I’m still with a swollen knee. I was offer a referral for pain management but I never asked for pain meds. I was told to ice and use Biofreeze which I been doing for the last two weeks....now what doc?? Oh he was gone for today? #volumeorvalue

Dr. McGown is a great doctor and I have seen them all. I was referred to him for a non surgical procedure for my knee. He explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. He is very patient and kind and takes all the time you need talking to you about your concerns. I have sent many family members as well as friends to him. He is also very funny!!!

The office stay are rude and there are too many of them because this sit around and gossip. They also mess up your appointments but blame you. He is a happy fellow but very loud. He does not explain things and he gave 2 diff diag over a few years. He doesn't listen re allergies. I will not see him again. The office is nasty. I expect a medical office to be clean. It is not at all. He likes to pile in several patients then chat and joke with his staff. Very annoying. Hope this helps

This doctor likes to go fast. he is not very caring. he does not tell me of the plan for my treatment.he writes on the form sheet for a followup appointment, but he does not tell me why i'm coming back. i am on medicaid insurance and only get 12 vistis per yearand he likes to have me in quite regular and my visits are vanishing and i have a pain doctor to see once a month and my internist also, so i only have 2 vistis left. and that's my problem with Dr. Mcgown. thanks for asking
