Meet Dr. Andrew Moffitt
Dr. Andrew R. Moffitt is a prosthodontist practicing in the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Prosthodontics is one of the nine specialties recognized by the American Dental Association. A prosthodontist is devoted to restoring and replacing lost or broken teeth. Dr. Moffitt has been recognized by his peers as one of the top prosthodontists in Minneapolis for his specialty which restores natural smiles using dental implants, dentures, crowns, bridges, and veneers.
Dr. Moffitt received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Washington and his doctor of dental surgery degree from Creighton University. Prior to receiving his certificate in prosthodontics and masters in Oral Biology at the Baylor College of Dentistry, he practiced general dentistry for three years. Dr. Moffitt has lectured to dentists and prosthodontists throughout the United States. He has instructed dental students at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX. While …in dental school, Dr. Moffitt spent a summer setting up medical and dental clinics in the rural parts of the Dominican Republic.
A Prosthodontist's Training
Dr. Moffit's training goes beyond the scope of the general dental degree which gives the patient the opportunity of a wide range of diagnostic insight and alternative treatment modalities to oral health conditions.
Dr. Moffitt specializes in the replacement of teeth through dental implant therapy. Implants provide additional support where teeth are missing without putting forces onto remaining natural teeth. They may be used to support the replacement of a single missing tooth or a complete functional set for individuals who have lost many or all of their teeth. Osseointegrated implants are effective in over ninety-six percent of all patients treated.
