Dr. Andrew Monteleone, MD

I was reading his reviews and was compelled to write about my own experience as it seems drastically different. I don't know where to begin to praise and thank him. He was truly my guardian angel during one of the most difficult times in my life. He saved my life and never gave up on me. He never left and said i can't do this even though i couldn't pay him. He visited me at home when i couldn't get to his office and when i was able to get to his appointment he drove me home. He is a one in a million doctor and truly deserves the title of doctor.

After struggling to get an appointment at his cortlandt office (his card only states the yonkers number) I had finally gotten in touch with him before my post-op check up for my gallbladder surgery. I had concerns about infection and without even hearing what was going on from me, he called me back leaving a voicemail stating I had no infection. I then went in for my post-op check up 3 weeks after my surgery and my wounds still hadn't healed. He insisted they were fine and the stitches that were supposed to dissolve would "fall out soon". IT was a painful and unnecessary process for me to go through and eventually I noticed more oozing accompanied by painful, pus filled bumps. I saw my PCP, who took a wound culture (from INSIDE THE WOUND, not just around on the skin) and a few days later called urging me to go to the ER immediately because I had contracted MRSA. After finding this out, I called Dr. Monteleone and in response to what I told him, he then mocked me, told me I don't… need to be on antibiotics and if I was "that sick you wouldn't be allowed to fly home." (I was in Texas for the week). He refused to make an emergency appointment with me, and refused to see me in the ER back in cortlandt when I got home. This has caused me to needlessly suffer for months with a severe infection and he's not even willing to admit his mistakes or treat someone that he is responsible for, making me go completely out of my way to go to a different hospital in order to receive the treatment I needed. So people, beware.

Dr. Monteleone has a great bedside manner and explains everything thouroughly.
