Dr. Andrew J. Muir

He is very rude. He is the dept head of gastroenterology and hepatology and a professor at Duke! Beware if you want to go to Duke as a student. I was forced to be on a medicine that did me permanent damage.

Neither staff or doctor follows up - leaving the patient blowing in the wind despite several attempts to contact.

I was diagnosed with a chronic liver disease. I was shocked, scared and confused. Was immediately referred to Dr. Muir (Duke) and saw him in a matter of days. I cried the entire visit. He was gentle, supportive, explained the disease, how he thought I was infected (blood transfusion) and all the new treatments on the horizon to cure people like myself. He avoided uncessary test, ordered the needed tests and spoke to me about all my options. He is a wonderful doctor and spent a lot of time with me. His office is conveniently located to where I live. His PA and other support staff are friendly, supportive and it's a very good experience for those who are battling any chronic diseases.
