Andrew Place, MD, PhD

Dr. Andrew Place, MD, PhD, is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of the Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center and a senior physician in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital, as well as an assistant professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in pediatric hematology-oncology, with particular expertise in leukemia, high-risk blood cancers, and early-phase clinical trials for children and adolescents with relapsed or treatment-resistant disease. Dr. Place earned both his MD and PhD in pharmacology and toxicology from Dartmouth Medical School and completed his pediatric residency through the Boston Combined Residency Program, followed by fellowship training in pediatric hematology-oncology at Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
