Dr. Andrew Matthew Scanameo, MD

Due to my primary doctor retiring I made an appointment with Dr Scanameo. I found him to be knowledgeable about my medications and suggested I stopped taking one of them due side effects. When I did my own research I decided it was best I no longer take it. He seemed thorough and asked lots of questions. Some blood work has been ordered and I plan to return to him.

Dr. Scanameo disappear one day, close his office with no explanation of his decision and conduct.....that is too bad, can't speak well of this doctor.

Look elsewhere, if you want good care for yourself or a loved one. Scanameo is very aloof and pompous. He truly feels his patients are far beneath him. While he believes he is a god, he doesn't seem especially knowledgeable. He loves to order unnecessary tests and has mastered the art of double billing. He is a doctor who only cares about making money and not about patient welfare.

Dr. Scanameo may be a skilled physician, but he is not a skilled communicator. He is caring for my mother, though I don't think either of us experiences it as "caring." His medical instructions are erratic. He tells us he's going to order one treatment, then orders something completely different without informing us of the change, much less the reason for the change. He avoids conversations and questions. His bedside manner is abrupt and sometimes harsh, and he makes comments about my mother as though she can't hear him, which she can.

I have NEVER been to a less courteous, more incompetent practice.

This is the best doctor I ever had taking care of my mother! After experianccing numerous physicians in the past, no one comes close to Dr Scanameo in the way he cares about his patients, the extensive knowledge of medicine he has, and the accurate diagnostic he always showed.

Dr Scanameo has taken care of both my parents for the last 5 years. He is so compassionate and knowledgable, we are so lucky to have him!

He prayed over me, prescribed physical therapy and release from the hospital when I was still needing drains aspirated every two hours (which my husband was suppose to do) and I came close to death. I fired him when my infectious disease doctor readmitted me to the hospital and hired a another doctor as my primary physician. If I had not done that, I would be dead today. Avoid this man at all cost. He is not a doctor...but is an ambulance chaser. The hospital lowers themselves by having him on staff.

Be very careful if this man is your doctor. My experience with him was anything but good. I changed doctors and consider myself lucky to be alive.
