When I asked—calmly—why confirmation was sent if the visit was already off, the staff offered nothing but dismissive shrugs and clipped replies. Their indifference wasted my time, disrupted my workday, and signaled a basic disregard for patients. Verification of coverage is an administrative task, not a surprise to spring at check-in. If your systems cannot reconcile appointments with insurance, fix them; if your staff cannot convey respect, retrain them. Healthcare begins at the front desk. Today it failed there, decisively. Until then, consider this a caution to others: expect confirmation without commitment, and customer service without service. This was avoidable and reflects poorly on leadership.
