Dr. Andrew P Selwyn, MD

Dr. Selwyn was thorough in his exam and heard accurately at least 75% of my history accurately, but I did not feel genuinely seen by him, or that he was interested in who I was or what I'd already undergone or undertaken as a way to reduce my high risks as a hereditary high risk cardiac patient. He was polite, but brusque, delivering alarming pronouncements that were dire, without any evident concern regarding how his statements would land.Perhaps the fact that he knew I would be returning to see one of his colleagues , and not him, influenced his demeanor, but that's unprovable. I would never choose him as a regular cardiologist, but in an emergent predicament, he wold be , in my impression, reliable & immensely competent.

Dr. Selwyn was thorough in reviewing my cardiovascular history. He was not rushed, patiently answered my questions, offered his opinions and gave me very useful information. As a physician of his accomplishments and seniority, he was very approachable and friendly. There was no ego, no rushing, no attitude. I highly recommend him.
