Dr. Andrew J Smyth, DC

Dr. Andrew Smyth, D.C., has been in practice for over 20 years. He grew up in Burlington, Massachusetts, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Fitchburg State College before obtaining his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University. He has practiced Quantum Spinal Mechanics (QSM3) since its inception and is a founding member of the organization. He continues to train with the technique’s creator, Dr. Russell Friedman, and previously attained Part II certification in NUCCA, the approach from which QSM3 evolved.

Before entering the chiropractic field, Dr. Smyth spent five years working in computer science. He ultimately chose to pursue a career focused on helping people, finding it more fulfilling than working with computers. Guided by the belief that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed rather than merely endured, he approaches care with a focus on understanding the underlying causes of stress within the body. He believes the body …actively holds stress patterns, and by identifying and addressing these causes, it can be supported in returning to a healthier, more balanced state. He continues to refine and adapt his techniques to better release physical, mental, and emotional stress, both in the short and long term.

Outside of his professional work, Dr. Smyth is passionate about biking, hiking, and personal development. He enjoys exploring new foods, particularly exotic fruits, and considers himself a foodie. His interests also include kayaking and watching movies. He has participated in two chiropractic mission trips to Peru, experienced skydiving in two different ways, and gone scuba diving twice, with plans to do more. One of his most memorable experiences was “The Edge,” where he leaned over a cliff at a 45-degree angle.
