I waited three weeks for him to call me back after his under-qualified staff at Hamilton Anesthesia took three months to get my bill to me, failed to communicate, and reported me to collections a month after. It was difficult reasoning with his staff because it seems there is just one person in charge who was extremely, rude, obnoxious, stupid, and offensive. The hospital connected me with Spiteri when I demanded to speak with whoever was in charge of this rude person and I complained about how they handled the situation. Even though my call was about complaining about how it was handled and not to ask him to resolve it, he gave his word that he would resolve it in a manner that was favorable for both parties and took my information to call me back. Three weeks later when he did not call back, I called every day for 4 days (sometimes more than once) leaving messages for him. At the end of this when I finally got through to him, he had no intention of helping but did not show the… professional courtesy to call me back so I could act accordingly. On the 4th day when I got him he said his staff told him not to worry about it because they were handling it through collections (although he seemed very confused about that part - but for sure, he did not intend to help). He became very defensive, abrupt, and was reluctant to hear anything I had to say since it became clear that he had been brainwashed by some dunce at his office, which caused him to backtrack on his word to resolve the matter amicably, and a failure to address how his staff handled it. He also said I was calling the hospital and "harassing everybody" in my strenuous efforts to communicate to settle the bill. He claimed that he had known the woman at his office who was behind the whole dilemma for 15 years, so he was most inclined to trust her judgement over mine even though she is clearly an idiot. It is appalling to me that someone who is apparently educated can allow themselves to be brainwashed by a fool who was extremely vindictive in having collections call me and report me to credit agencies each time I tried speaking to them due to the fact that they failed to send out the bill so I could act on time, and failed to take the proper notes when I contacted them to tell them that I applied for emergency Medicaid since I had no insurance as an international student. If this is how you do business and these are the irrational approaches, why provide your services to begin with to someone you know has no insurance and is at the mercy of public assistance which means that they might need more time??
