Dr. Andrew Sylvester, MD

Dr. Sylvester is kind, patient and gives a very comprehensive exam. He listens and answers questions patiently. His bedside manner is exemplary. All support staff were very helpful and kind.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sylvester's since he was in New York and now at Barnabas Ambulatory Care Center. When it comes to medication, there is no more knowledgeable Dr. then Dr. Sylvester; he knows everything that is already available, is about to become available, and may become available in the future. He is extremely motivated by wanting to have the best outcome for his patients; even when I have had disagreements with him about my treatment plan and the medical interventions I need, I tend to ultimately go with his perspective since he knows so much. He is also very human and endearing. I think he has a great bedside manner! If you are lucky enough to be one of his patients, I have no doubt that you will benefit tremendously.

I am a long-time patient of Dr. Sylvester’s, from when he was in NY. He was he only doctor that did not dismiss any symptoms I’ve ever had, he listens to his patients, and always makes it a point to get back to me personally, not just speak through his staff. The staff at St. Barnabas is incredibly kind and treat everyone as family. Alyssa, the social worker always gets back to me if I leave her a message, even if she’s not able to help me. I will not go to anyone else, Dr. Sylvester has always done right by me and Is very thorough with his exams and reviews of test results. <3

I have been a patient of Dr. Sylvester's for years. He is one of the most caring people I've ever known. He follows up with his patients personally and if he tells you he will do something consider it done. He's really a great person and I can't say enough about him.

This MD will call back always, he is appropriately aggressive to keep MS from getting worse and manages symptoms well, He or his partners are always available, always get back to you, answer question and always cosider the patient to be the most impotant decision maker in terms of the plan of care. I have been on IVIG for about 5 and a half years and this disease immunomodulator is helping me to stay well as it is helping many others. Sorry to about the person who had a problem, all treatments have risks and benefits.Treating MS is still trial and error, still many unknows, although they are learning more every day, and each persons treatment has to be individualized, Dr. Sylvester is driven to work toward a cure and in the mean time uses what he has at hand at the IMSMP, including the reseach center and new meds to keep MS patients living the best quality lives they can lead. I have been his patient for 8 years and he has never let me down, always there for me, I feel like he is a… family member, never have I met a physician like him, I am so lucky.
