Dr. Andrew Cho Tsen, MD

Dr. Tsen was very friendly, calm, thorough and reassuring. He spent a lot of time explaining procedure options, reviewing my file and films and talking me through what to expect. My husband was out of town so we had him on speaker phone and Doc had to repeat much of the information for him. For insurance and logistics reasons I had to schedule surgery quickly as I was scheduled to retire and move out of state. Doc cancelled an appointment to accommodate me. I completely trusted him and he was able to accomplish a valve repair, instead of replace, that I was praying for. He is the best! His staff were wonderful as well, very friendly and helpful.

My mother needed an aortic valve replacement and we were referred to Dr. Tsen. Andy (Dr. Tsen) has a very friendly and compassionate bedside manner. He offered several options to my mother including "minimally invasive" surgery which left a much smaller incision (with remarkably less pain and faster recovery time) than I can imagine traditional open heart surgery brings. We are so thankful to have found Andy here in Portland. He is a kind and highly skilled surgeon who cares about his patients. Ask for Dr. Tsen if you need heart surgery! All of the nurses were excellent too.

My partner was diagnosed with three blocked arteries in her heart, Dr Tsen performed bi-pass surgery on her. Thanks to his attention and expertise she is here today. I would recommend him to anyone needing thoracic surgery. Dr. Tsen rocks.
