It takes someone of character and conviction to go into a field like Pediatric Neuro Oncology. This can not be an easy job. Our daughter was dealt a very difficult diagnosis of a very rare form of brain cancer. From the first moment we met with Dr. Walter, he was honest and open with us about the tough road ahead. Despite that difficult road, he worked tirelessly to make sure that we had every option available to us, several other opinions from different doctors at different children's hospitals, and made himself available to us whenever we needed him. His kindness, empathy and understanding knew no bounds. I am eternally grateful for all that Dr. Walter did for our daughter - to make sure that she was safe, happy, respected and given quality care. While I hope I never have to see him professionally again, or have to refer anyone to his care, I feel comfort in knowing that he is continuing to make a difference in the lives of those he treats.

Dr. Walter is an awful provider. He has terrible bedside manner and does not have the knowledge needed to care for his critically ill patients. My son has a rarer form of cancer than he was used to treating, and did not take the advice of more experienced doctors in this area and chose to do what he wanted. Needless to say this only caused more harm for my son and we got out of there ASAP. Go to CHOP, do not put your child through what mine went to!!!

Does not care about his patients or parents! Poor bedside manner. Does what makes him look best, not what’s best for his patients.
