Dr. Andy M Fine, MD

Review of Dr. Fine – Based on Two Visits I was previously on Colorado Medicaid, and Dr. Fine was conveniently located and part of the network. My first visit with him left me unimpressed. While he was cordial, his bedside manner was indifferent at best. He reviewed my chart, ordered a couple of tests, and did what I would describe as the bare minimum. At the time, I was 60 and generally healthy—I've even been told I’m “boring” medically: no high blood pressure, no chronic disease, and I maintain a healthy lifestyle. During that visit, my blood pressure was slightly elevated—not dangerously so, just something to monitor. Rather than asking about lifestyle, stress, or diet, Dr. Fine immediately suggested medication. I wasn’t comfortable with that approach, especially since it was a one-off reading with no history of BP issues. I also mentioned I wanted to lose a few pounds. He told me to lift my shirt and then quickly said, “cut out carbs.” That was the extent of the nutritional… guidance or conversation—no deeper discussion, no curiosity, no support. I considered switching doctors but made a second appointment because starting over isn’t always easy, and I was about to lose Medicaid coverage. I told Dr. Fine at the beginning of that visit that I’d be uninsured in two weeks and asked him to be thorough and order any tests he thought could be helpful. His response: “I’ll do what’s medically necessary.” Again, he didn’t ask a single question about my health or lifestyle. He listened to my heart for maybe three breaths, barely checked my neck, and that was it. I requested a complete CBC, which he didn’t order—instead, he ran a basic panel that showed slightly elevated iron levels. Afterward, I called and spoke with the office manager, who admitted I wasn’t the first to express concerns. She said the PA would call me and scheduled another appointment. The PA did order a partial CBC, but not a full one—so I couldn’t properly monitor any change in my iron levels. Despite all this, Dr. Fine never followed up. Eventually, I was offered a video call with him, but by then, I had little confidence anything meaningful would come from it. I expected a generic “cut out red meat” and a suggestion to come back in 3 months—which I couldn’t do due to my insurance ending. This experience highlights a real problem in American healthcare. There was no care in Dr. Fine’s approach. If he had cared, he would have followed up, ordered appropriate tests, and treated me as a person, not a chart. I also understand how Medicaid patients are sometimes treated differently—we may get access, but not necessarily quality care. Some patients seem to have had good experiences with Dr. Fine, and perhaps he is effective when treating acute or serious conditions. But as a preventative provider for someone who is healthy and proactive about their well-being, I would not recommend him. I won’t be returning.

Dr Andy Fine was incredibly knowledgeable and took his time reviewing my case and informed me the important things for my upcoming follow up appointments. It was a welcoming atmosphere at the clinic and the staff too were incredible. Outstanding communication from the front desk to the nurses and to the doctor. Would highly recommend this primary care clinic.

Dr Fine is efficient as are the rest of the processes in his office. I’m able to get it and out quickly while receiving the necessary care. Dr Fine is a direct communicator which I appreciate. I am quite satisfied with the services he has provided.

Dr Fine & his staff have kept me healthy for over a decade. I’ve referred folks who agree. Great”bedside manner” and comforting attention to detail.

Dr. Fine is efficient and thorough in his evaluation. He is also straightforward in telling me what I need to do. I feel that I am receiving quality care at Colorado. I had a very short wait time before being seen.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fine’s for over 25 years. He has always been friendly & efficient whenever I had an appointment. He has referred me to other doctors whenever I needed a specialist. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a PC physician.

Can’t think of a better more concerned provider. Provides the best care and concern imaginable. Puts the patient first and never too busy to hear your wants, needs and concerns.
