Pragmatic and up-to-date, broad medical perspective, good Spanish, relates well to elderly, long waits

If you want to have an appointment time that you can put in your schedule, you have to show up at 8am so that you can be the first person in line at the door. Then you wait an hour for the receptionist to open the door at 9am. Then you sit in the waiting area until Dr. Alcantara shows up at 10 or 11. If you were first in line then hopefully you'll be out by noon. If you're not first or second in line at the door, then who knows when you'll get out. Also, as stated in an other review, he wants to see you every month and won't provide refills for stable conditions. Shame on you, New York Presbyterian for associating with such unprofessional behavior.

This doctor only cares about money. Does not give refills to force patients to come back & pay for a visit whether they need to be seen or not. Gives appointments for 9:00 AM & shows up to the office at 11:30 AM - All the times & never returns calls. He is a good doctor but needs to reorganize his business practices.

He took care of my mother and was able to provide quality of life. He care about he well being and is readily available when he is needed. He provides excellent service and cares about his patients.
