Dr. Angela Chmielewski, MD

Dr. Chmielweski's approach to patient care and family involvement raises significant concerns. Her decision-making appears to disregard the input and concerns of families, which is critical during end-of-life care. In our case, she determined that our loved one, who was battling a urinary tract infection (UTI), had been on hospice for too long. Rather than addressing the infection, she decided it would be a good idea to not, let it to progress to sepsis, ultimately leading to death. This decision directly contradicts what hospice had assured us—that minor conditions like a UTI would not be allowed to cause death. The lack of empathy, communication, and transparency displayed during this process was deeply distressing. Dr. Chmielweski's cold and dismissive demeanor made an already difficult time even harder for our family. End-of-life care requires compassion and respect for both patients and their families.
