Dr. Angela Chung Hon-Cheng, MD

No friendly greeting. Showed no interest in understanding my medical history. Did not look at me when she talked to me. Displayed no emotion whatsoever, even in response to my obvious jokes to get her to lighten up. Showed no sympathy or interest when I described how my symptoms were interfering with my life. Insisted there was nothing wrong with me, but wrote me a referral for a specialist, which obviously violates her whole role as a PCP in the first place. Also, the office is old, dusty, and smells. Worst doctor experience I have ever had by a mile.

Upon asking another student whom I go to the university with if they knew any doctor's practices around town, I was given Dr. Hon's practice's number. I had no problem scheduling an urgent appointment. I was assured that Dr. Hon was the finest of doctors by the nurse who answered the phone. As soon as I got to the practice, I found myself unimpressed with the overall environment of the office. All patient files were messily arranged behind the reception desk and a bunch of nurses were casually sitting as if they had nothing to do and gossiping. As I overheard conversations on the phone with patients and saw the nurses interact, I unfortunately do not feel these nurses were the most competent that I have come across. The office is not the cleanest and there is a funny smell throughout. I was somewhat rushed through my paperwork. They did not make me feel at ease, although they were nice to other patients and myself. They also spoke very little English while I was there even though they… were perfectly capable because when they addressed me, they spoke beautiful English. I find it a common courtesy to speak in the language everyone in the room understands when one is in a professional environment. Once I was shown to a private room, the doctor came in after my vitals were taken, albeit haphazardly. Her bedside manner was lacking, although she does listen to the patient very well. Inside the private room, the walls were scuffed and dirty and the carpet needed serious vacuuming. My examination went fine and I was then taken into another room to have an urgent sonogram. The sonogram technician was very nice and from what I can tell, did a good job. However, upon my return visit today to hear my sonogram results, I was shown into a private room and could clearly overhear the nurses scrambling to see if I had any results from my sonogram after they had to ask me why I had come back a week later EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD ME IN THE BOOKS FOR AN APPOINTMENT. I would have appreciated it if I could have at least gotten a call to tell me my results were not ready so I wouldn't have wasted my time commuting to the doctor's office at nine a.m. on a Tuesday when I have classes and work. I was told my results would take a week and I was back more than a week later. Upon preparing to leave the office after seeing the doctor only to have her also be unaware where my results even were, one of the nurses asked ME to email HER to REMIND HER to call me about my results. Needless to say, I am thoroughly dissatisfied withe service I received at this office, I do not at all feel comfortable in the care of this doctor, and would absolutely NOT RECOMMEND this practice to anyone. I found this practice/ doctor to only have a one star out of five rating on other review sites after I did some research after my first visit and I would have to wholeheartedly agree.

Absolutely rude and clueless. Worst doctor visit ever.

I waited 30 minutes before I was seen. She walked into the room, did not introduce herself, did not say hello, did not look at me. Sat at the computer in the exam room and said, "How can I help you?" I was stunned by how rude she was. I gave a brief reason why I was there and she rudely repeated, "How can I help you?" She still had not even glanced in my direction. I gave a more descriptive reason for my visit. She asked me when was the last time I had this medical episode and I said two weeks ago. She then asked how often it happened where I let her know every date I could remember. She then said, "When was the last episode?" I was losing my patience as she was obviously not paying attention. She then asked my symptoms, I told her and she looked at me with her eyebrows up like she didn't understand what I was saying to her. I no longer trusted her with my health and told her I will be seeing another doctor. I got up and left. She laughed as I left.
