Expectations, communication, and my understanding of treatment plan was clear from referral through consultation and procedure. Both Dr. Smith and department/team were fantastic throughout.

Will not be returning to a office that uses scribes. I do not like a third party in the room while discussing sensitive information with an MD. It is embarrassing to have a person in the room when the MD is performing a rectal exam or doing an exam of my "privates". I do not trust scribes and do not trust doctors that use them, it sacrifices the patient-doctor relationship. I consider myself a private person, now someone that I don't know and haven't built a relationship with knows all about intimate details of my life. I will never again step foot on a UNC facility again. This is one patient that you have lost. I will tell you now that most men that go to a female provider will tell you this. I may as well go to a male doctor if you are using scribes.

I've had three appointments with Dr. Smith, the initial consultation, prostate biopsy, and one follow up this year. I am impressed with her overall. The one thing that I'm most impressed with is her honesty and down to earth bedside manner. That is important to me and was lacking in my previous urologist. She was able to answer all of my questions and I left all my appointments satisfied with her answers. I intend to keep going to her and whenever it comes time to do my surgery she is my first choice in surgeons.

I'm not a person who visits the doctor/hospital often. People like me see a specialist like Dr. Smith because there is a need. I appreciate her listening to me and explaining the facts. Nothing over my head, no sense of missing the point, all done kindly. Was a good experience -- not that I want to go back!

Terrible, incompetent doctor, so is her resident.
