Dr. Angelina R Espinosa-Guanzon, MD

I have been with Dr. Guanzon since 2014. She exhibits patience and after many years I trust her. She is sincere and she cares about her patients.

Dr. G is a good enough doctor, but THREE TIMES over 2 yrs she changed her office location WITHOUT notifying us! (Two times she went to a different practice and once the practice changed locations.) This is serious--we depend on her for psych meds and we couldn't find her, then we had to wait weeks to see her. Had to beg the family doctor to write the script to get us through this frightening time. Pharmacist says this is not uncommon with this doc-- she leaves patients in the lurch. I felt like suing her-- not providing continuity of care is medical malpractice!

Dr. Guanzon is great. She adjusted my meds years ago and I feel like a normal person finally. I have been seeing her for 20 + years. She is wonderful and caring. I had several doctors before her and none were as good. I can't say enough about her.

This provider has no regard for what is safe and/or appropriate in terms of treating patients. My father has been seeing her for years, and is on incredibly unsafe dosages of multiple medications--she essentially just gives the patients whatever they want with zero regard to health or safety. When trying to contact her to express concerns, both her and her front desk will completely shut you down and not even speak to you. I URGE YOU NOT TO GO TO THIS PROVIDER AND INSTEAD CHOOSE ONE WHO PUTS YOUR MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH FIRST.

Dr. G (Guanzon) is brilliant and caring. She is very understanding and extremely knowledgeable about psychiatry and medications. She is an Angel, to say the least. Allow her to talk so she can get to know you. Don't assume you know everything because you don't. The Ph.D. that she works with Mr. Paige Huff is also outstanding. I believe he is the CEO of the company. The two of them make a pair second to none. I have been seeing them both for two+ years and hope to keep going. They are both a Godsend to many people. Be nice and polite to both of them because they can work wonders for those that seek their help. I could go on for an hour, but they are both top-notch. She is best of the best in the Virginia Beach / Norfolk area. Oh, she works at Christian Psychotherapy in Virginia Beach on Corporation Lane where Dr. Huff also has an office. They have other offices in the Hampton roads area so you may want to look into a different location. It may take some time to see her, but wait for an… open appointment because she is that good. Remember - let her do most of the talking because that is her technique. she knows what she is doing.

She's always late, insensitive and has a God complex.

At my 14-year-olds initial appointment she prescribed him Welbutrin, which caused him to have suicidal thoughts, so I took him off after that very first day. Come to find out that is a very harsh medication to give to a child who has not tried anything yet. She was also so soft spoken, you could hardly hear her and she kept rambling on and on about God know what... The entire office is unprofessional.

Dr. Guanzon is the most caring, knowledgeable Psychiatrist around. Awesome.....no other word describes her better.
