Dr. Angelo Sambunaris, MD

Do not waste your time even contacting this place. After only a 5–10-minute conversation with the receptionist (NOT the doctor himself), I was told that I was not “a right fit” for their practice, but that they “wished me luck” in finding the right provider. This is, by far, the most unprofessional experience I have ever encountered in all my years of being treated within the mental healthcare profession. Based on my experience, I am under the impression that the doctor is pretentious and only “choosing” patients that may provide him with the best outcome of appearing as a qualified and reputable provider. The level of discrimination is unfathomable, especially without performing a proper and in-person evaluation performed by a licensed and practicing physician. After returning their phone call in tears, I was told that they simply could not provide a valid reason as to why I was not a qualified candidate for this practice. This place just bellows unprofessionalism and red flags.… Don’t waste your time or money. Find a physician that actually upholds a professional demeanor and who will not dismiss your needs. As someone who works in the legal field, there are many notable incongruities that may be huge indicators of malpractice going on here.

How does one write a review of a doctor who stops showing up for your appointments? Early on, I was happy with Sambunaris’. But things changed. Sambunaris began allowing pharmacy students to attend to his patients… by themselves. When I needed to discuss a new issue with him, the student took the information, fed it to Sambunaris secondhand and came back in with a new prescription. Stunned, I asked to see Sambunaris to discuss this. I was told that he was too busy, and that I’d see less and less of him as he continued to aggressively grow his business. I’ve never had a doctor simply not show up for appointments. I pay $150.00 IN ADVANCE to see HIM, and I’m tired of getting pawned off on students. He is now just in this for the money. This is a dangerous practice, and he has lost my trust and respect. He deviated far from the professional norm that I expect in a doctor/patient relationship. I absolutely cannot recommend this doctor or his practice.

short wait times and clean office space. he was very ready to listen to all my problems. I did not feel rushed when we were in our appointment.

Very caring, careful and open. He won't sugar coat, gives it to you straight and certainly willing to advise of pros and cons of any treatment. He is the best in diagnosing. Depth of knowledge is amazing.

I suffer from depression and have some family issues that contribute to my anxiety. I love Dr. Sambunaris. When things seemed bleak, he gave me the tools I needed to cope. He listens!!! He is a dear man, and a wonderful doctor. Great Psychiatrist are not easy to find and he is the best.

I wish I could see him for all my medical problems. He is caring ,knowledgeable, patient, spot on with diagnoses, spends all the time needed to understand all I need, knows all about various medicines. I wish everyone could see him. Don't sell yourself short, see the BEST. He also has an amazing staff.
