Dr. Ania Danielle Carlson, MD

She is a quack. She cares only about money. She will continue to prescribe opioids and will eventually have you dependent upon them.

I'm so happy with this Dr. I have been going to pain management for many years and 1 visit with this Dr made me so dam happy and it had nothing to do with pain meds .

I have been seeing her for about four years and with very few exceptions I wait no less than an hour for my appointment. Some months I will wait up to three or even four hours! The very worst is when I wait for hours and then she calls in mind tells the receptionist that she won't be coming in that night and to reschedule all the patients. With that said, when you do get back to see her she really does take the time to make an accurate diagnosis and she is definitely not a pill mill doctor. Unlike other doctors that I have seen in the past that have a set treatment regimen in their mind and are very on flexible, she is very willing to work with you and change medications until you find something that works. She definitely dots all of her "i"s and crosses all of her "t"s: she drug test's regularly and randomly, insists on MRIs, insists on regular bloodwork, makes regular use of EFORCSE (Florida's Rx tracking system). I had gotten my wisdom teeth pulled and the dentist called in… like 10 Vicodin (before they became C11) and I almost got discharged because she said I was obtaining pain meds from multiple doctors....which, in essence, I had indeed done but it was an honest mistake. I'll tell you I'll never make that one again! Don't try to play her....she's foreign but EXTRMELY smart and discharges people all the time who have + urine screens (or - urine screens for what they're supposed to be taking...which she considers the same as a +!). If you go in right away and say "I need blues they're the only thing that works for me"....you're not going to get them and you may not get another appointment. If you're truly in pain and want to get better, tell her what's worked for you, be open-minded about new therapies or medications, be patient, keep moving! (Yoga, gym, walking, jogging, even stretching helps a great deal) and don't go into pain management thinking that 100% of your pain will go away. The goal is to reduce your pain so you can function again. I see the same story over and over....people get a relatively minor injury that rest and physical therapy would heal, yet these folks go into pain management and get prescribed massive doses of narcotics and sedatives and end up on the couch all day....this leads to muscle atrophy and weight gain; so whatever the original injury was now is probably worse from the body not being used for weeks or months. Then pain increases from new injuries, narctic doses go up, and the cycle continues. Set realistic expectations and goals for pain management and talk about them with her. She's much more receptive to these types of patients versus those who just come in and say "nothing's changed can I have my scripts please?!".

Dr Carlson does care and knows how to treat pain..Ill give her that much. However, unless you have a lot of cash then she doesn't care if you are about to die from cancer. Money money and more money is what she is about! Do be prepared to bring around several hundred dollars with you too see her..No she takes no insurance. If your early then she charges you $50 more, but not too worry, if you have the money you still will get your meds. Well that's if you can find a pharmacy that will fill them..BTW she is never ever one time do plan your entire day for your one appointment. If your in pain and you have the money and time to spend then yeah she is the doc for you. But if your really in pain and have insurance then you should not have an issue finding a doctor that is professional and treats your symptoms. Good luck!

Dr. Carlson is actually quite knowledgable in her field and in pain management. More often than not, she is extremely late showing up to the office, so by the time she arrives, her tiny waiting room is literally packed with people (some have to stand). The past two months, she has actually been on time and prompt...hopefully she's turning over a new leaf. I have been with her for a few years so 2 months out of several years doesn't impress me yet. Also, she only takes cash (no insurance) and charges for every little thing: If you have travel plans, an illness, work issues, etc...and need to come in even a day early, you have to pay $50. If she writes you a prescription for something and the parmacy can't (or won't) fill it, or if you need a prescription re-written for any reason, she charges you $20 no matter what. With all that said, she is actually very intelligent. She diagnosed me with a condition that 3 other docs had missed. And she does actually care about whether your meds are… working and whether you are receiving pain relief. She actually takes time to do a physical examination and follow-up on all your complaints. She insists on routine bloodwork as well as (at least an initial) MRI as well as previous doctor records. If you're looking for a doc to just write you a script of your favorite pain pill, look elsewhere. She does do regular drug testing and you can expect a test at *any* visit. Don't refuse the test or make up any reason why you can't take it, or they'll discharge you....I've seen it happen more than once. So, overall she's a good doc, but make sure you clear your schedule for the rest of the day after your appointment time because you may be for 4 hours (no joke!).

When I first went to the doctors office I was coming from a dr that was retiring, so the doctor started a new "profile" on me of blood work and image studies. She was so amazing in discovering new issues that I didn't kknow I had and re-prescribing medication for me. Iam a brand new person after two years, and her staff was so knowledgable and helpful I cant thank them enough!

Dr. Carlson is a very caring and devoted doctor. She is very knowledgeable person. She is very concerned about the well-being of her patients. She wants to improve the quality of life for her clients. The only problem with her office is that she is not always "prompt" on showing up on time, but that is easy to overlook because of rest of the compassion and proffesionalism shown by her and her staff. So Thank you Dr. without you I would be on disability.

Dr. Carlson is a fantastic doctor and is a very caring dr and person. I would recommend her highly as a patient of 2 years with her and a person.
