Dr. Anibal Avila, MD

He absolutely cares about his patients. I am the healthiest I have ever been. He explains possible problems, prevention, and establishes a common goal to keep me in good health and spirit. Genuinely a good person.

We originally went to this doctor that was suggested to us. Boy were we bamboozled. He does not care and his office is all Hispanic (and I'm Hispanic and I find this wrong. No one knows what they are doing and no one speaks English. They know nothing about insurance carriers and don't bother to call them, The place is really ghetto and small. Its a rip off. The front office receptionist looks like she has been off her meds. Please do not go there and waste your time.

We Arrived at 9 for a 9:15 appt and while signing in i notice that there was 1 person with an appt and 3 "walk ins" , all were seen before us .. we went back to room at 10:20 and Dr came in approx 10:30 , brushed off 1 reason we was there ( a bump on an eyelid ) , tried to insist we use the OB/Gyn across the street for family planning , and was rude when we stated we had one picked out already . While he filling out the referral form, we repeatedly had to correct mistakes he made on both names and numbers. The Office staff speaks very broken english , the medical history form was entirely in spanish and when asking for an english form was told i didnt need to fill it out anyways ? The office is small , the exam rooms are microscopic and not very sanitary looking ( and believe me im not a neatnik ) Children were running , screaming thru out the waiting room and exam room halls .I am trying to reach my HMO to change providers ... i cannot possibly see myself getting decent medical care… from this office .

I would never go back to this doctor nor would i send my friends.. The clinic which is mostly hispanic, did not see me i waited in the room for more than 2 hours before I decided to leave. I was told the doctor was doing an exam. well the so called doctor saw paitence that arrived more than an hour after i did with in 15 minutes. I am not sure if it was because I am white,however the ones that were saw before i was were all hispanic. I have good intentions to report him. I think he should go back to puerto rico and help ppl over there. he obisouly does not know the first thing about practicing medicine in the us!
