Dr. Anika Alarakhia, MD

Do not patronize doctor office. They are only worried about the money. They could care less about you or your health. Their improper scheduling put my health in jeopardy. Their main focus was only money, not my health! I called for an appointment. Their receptionist verified they take my insurance, and proceeded to schedule an appointment for me for oct 6, 2021. About a week after my appointment, I receive a bill. After weeks of back and forth of why the visit was not covered, I spoke with someone at my insurance company and the doctor office on a conference call. The problem was the receptionist that scheduled the appointment, scheduled me for the nurse practitioner that “doesn’t take my insurance,” only the doctor “takes my insurance.” Yet, both doctor and nurse practitioner have their names listed as participating with the insurance. Long story short the doctor’s office told me I need to self pay ($125) for my upcoming appointment (for an appointment with a doctor that my… insurance covers) or cancel my appointment if I am not going to self pay because of a previous bill per their negligence. The doctor will not see me unless I self pay, even though the billing error is their fault from the beginning, and their doctor is covered in network?!? Do not patronize this doctors office! They can not get their billing right, and more worried about $125 than the health and care of their patients!! I would not even trust them with my health considering they can not even schedule a doctors appointment with an in network doctor!! Stay far away, unless you want money hungry, incompetent uncaring doctors!!

Dr. Alar is an excellent Dr. who listens intently, asks important questions that other Drs. missed, and she is highly intelligent and very caring. The staff is equally caring and helpful. I highly recommend this practice.

They don't answer the phone. They don't send medications to the pharmacist. I'm without meds for over a week, they've said they'll send it every day for the past 7 days. Anika herself is very nice and helpful, but her staff is useless.

Dr. Alar herself is a great Dr. She is very patient, spends a lot of time with her patients and is very knowledgeable. However, my rating is more about her staff. As you all may know, this office has a 3rd party billing practice. The office doesn't wan't to discuss bills and the Dr. doesn't either. I would call to reschedule an appointment and there would be no answer. You leave a message and get no call back. I actually called the office two weeks prior to my appt and spoke with someone to cancel that appt and we rescheduled for an appt another two months out. I keep receiving bill for no show fee for the app't I cancelled. The two women up front couldn't care less and tell me to speak to the billing staff. The billing company tells me I have to speak to the staff. I wrote two letters directly to the Dr. and recv'd no response. My attorney wrote her two letters and he also recv'd no response. As of today and over a 1 1/2 year later, I continue recving the same bill. I… have now filed a formal complaint with the Florida Attorney General's office. I will not pay this office for a visit that I cancelled and I certainly refuse to ever make another app't at this office. It's unfortunate because it was the first Rheumatologist that I really cared about.

This office, doctor and staff are NOT professional. No one answer the phone, no one call you back. No one listen to the massages you left of their voicemail . They charge you no show fee for visit you canceled. Find another doctor

I am not even sure this office is legitimate....I have been trying to get a copy of my records for 2.5 months...calling weekly and ...if you read reviews no one can seem to get records, return calls or scripts refilled. The office staff turns over quickly....they have no where to direct you for billing...I was told the Dr. does all her own paperwork. She can find time to over bill your Insurance company and you but can not provide any records of your visit. They market infusions therapy and show hours being 9am to 9pm....that must be their bread and butter and focus...not providing care or at least records so someone can. This Dr. is independent and connected to no group therefore she follows no guide lines including HIPP LAW on records being provided within 30 days. DO NOT USE THIS DR

Horrendous experience! Repeatedly billed for office visits that were paid at the time of service. Voicemails with dooming test results left on Friday with no way to speak to doctor until Monday (happened 3 times). Repeats messages left for doctor, request for refills, etc. with no response for weeks.

Dr. Alar is so kind gentle and caring. I love her awesome demeanor. Her staff was kind, professional and courteous. I do not know what the patients experienced who rated her and her office staff with a 1 star. So unfair and could not be so very far from the truth. So sad this awesome doctor had to be rarely so poorly. I just don’t believe a word of what the reviewers stated.

Dr. Alarakhia was simply wonderful! I have had many encounters with medical professionals and Dr Alarakhia is one of the best! Very Knowledgeable of modern medication and treatments! She throughly explains your treatment plan and does not rush your visit. I’m blessed to have found her!
