Dr. Anil Haresh Punjabi, MD

Dr. Punjabi is everything most of us look for in a doctor. He listens, responds, and takes time to know his patients — likely the best doctor in my 81-year history. He is kind, thoughtful, and has a great sense of humor. He's efficient, curious, knowledgeable about current research, and provides written information on conditions covered during visits. His quick analytical mind connects details across my medical history that other doctors have missed. His ability to listen and ask the right questions actually helps him draw out information I didn't know was relevant. This proved critical during a 2020 hospitalization that had stumped six ER and inpatient doctors. Dr. Punjabi was the only one who asked enough varied questions to stimulate my memory and surface the information they needed. I believe this stems from divergent thinking — always asking "what else could this be?" Convergent thinking tends to result in missed diagnoses. For this reason, divergent thinking is now at the top of… my criteria when finding a new doctor. Dr. Punjabi is a problem solver and life saver for whom I am enormously grateful.
