Anil Veluvolu, MD, specializes in the treatment of hepatobiliary and upper gastrointestinal tumors, which includes the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestine. Educated in Shreveport, Dr. Veluvolu graduated college from LSUS then went on to medical school at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport. His internship, internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship were completed on the same campus. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Veluvolu is one of the most caring and compassionate health care providers I have ever experienced! He offers all the time you need for explanations of your care plan, prognosis, and any concerns that you may have. He explains his plan of treatment in terms you will understand and does not “sugar coat” the issue. He stays on top of newly released treatment and pharmaceutical options, as they appear from research centers around the world. WK is very fortunate to have an Oncology Center with the caliber of physicians such as Dr. Veluvolu!

Even though both of my parents passed away several years ago, both in advanced stages of their disease, I still have very fond memories of the care he provided to them and our family. Bedside manner is more than 5 stars. If he was less than wonderful, as suggested in another review, I am sure there was a good reason. As far as a rude nurse, I am sure if you told him--he would not tolerate that. If you have the honor of him taking care of you...count your blessings!

Dr. Veluvolu is a great dr. Very kind with great bedside manners. Only problem I have is with his nurse Stephanie, she is Rude, unpleasant,with no compassion or bedside manners. She is very argumentative and does not listen to patients issues or concerns. If Dr V tells her to do something she does it the way she wants to do it. Other than his nurses everything else is great!

An overall caring physician. When I called with a problem the call was returned within 20 minutes. If needed, I was asked to come to the office so that he could determine what was wrong. He has always given me the utmost respect and my family when talking to them. Sometimes he is on-call for the three hospitals causing an extra wait time but it only happened once to me. He is worth the wait.
