Dr. Anjan J. Patel, MD

Dr. Patel took care of my husband with his Mesothelioma. Horrible, horrible bedside manner!! My husband had plans on fulfilling his bucket list and told Dr. Patel of this plan. Even though we knew he might not be able to fulfill this Dr. Patel told him right before Christmas that he had a 5% chance of doing so. Which crushed his hopes and dreams that had kept him going and put him in a state of depression. At his last visit my husband was not able to walk due to his shortness of breath and I needed to help him. I was told I could go in with him. Dr. Patel told me that I was no longer allowed in the room at his next visit because I was asking him questions. He also asked me if I wanted to find a new doctor for my husband who had a terminal cancer. He also stated that he is not to be called at midnight when I called the on call number at 10 pm asking about a certain medication. Being in the medical field, I might have been asking more questions and Dr. Patel did not like being… questioned. His bedside manner is unacceptable period. If you are looking for a caring, compassionate Dr. who knows what they are doing. I suggest you look elsewhere! Terrible Doctor!!!!

Dr Patel has taken care of two hematology problems for which I was referred. He is meticulous, explains well and shows interest. Highly recommended

Dr. Patel diagnosed my CLL 5 years ago. He is calm and compassionate, patient, and as thorough as you want him to be with his explanations -- which are clear and free of jargon. Gratefully, I haven't needed treatment to date. My status is a longterm "watch and wait". He always knows just what to say to quell my anxiety about that.

Anxious on first visit and was immediately reassured with professionalism and though manner in which meeting was handled. Follow up visits have been same. Complete confidence in Dr. Patel.

Beware Dr. Patel, he is very young and has no understanding of effective interpersonal communication. He's very quick to run expensive tests without your approval (regardless of whether they are in network or not - he will cost you a lot of money). He cares about the almighty dollar, not your compassionate care!
