Dr. Ankesh Nigam, MD

Dr. Nigam has been treating my mothers stomach cancer. He is very straightforward which can be scary, but the truth is exactly what we want. Through multiple surgeries and hurdle after hurdle, Dr Nigam and his entire staff have been doing everything within their power to keep my mom healthy. We are forever grateful to Dr.Nigam and his residents.

What a wonderful doctor and a wonderful surgeon. He did a great job on my mom's liver resection. Throughly impressed with him, his follow up. etc. He contacted my mom at 9:00pm at home with blood work results. Would recommend him in a heart beat!!!!

he did surgery and then removed my staples to go home 9 days later. My wound split & I was eviscerated in my hospital room. My last appointment yesterday ended with a broken infection drain broken off inside me.

I saw several local GI doctors who refused to accept a local surgeon's suggestion that I had Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction (SOD). I was severely ill and in and out of the hospital for a year before I met Dr. Nigam. I lost my job and was reduced to a shell of a human being at 90 pounds, fainting, in severe abdominal pain, malnourished, vomiting, and basically dying a slow death. My husband and I exhausted our savings and sent me to the University of Minnesota to see a pancreatic biliary specialist who performed an ERCP test that could have been done locally, but like I mentioned, the doctors refused to help me, insisting it was all in my head or would just go away on its own. I was definitively diagnosed with SOD, and treated. I later had major surgery (transduodenal sphincteroplasty) by Dr. Nigam. He listens to me, validates my symptoms, and is an excellent surgeon. Thanks to him, I am a healthy 130 pounds and lucky to be alive.

Dr. Nigam is number 1 in our books! My husband just had a VERY complicated cancer surgery on his liver. I truely believe that if anyone else had done this surgery he would not have been here today! Dr. Nigam takes the time to thoroughly help you understand the proceedure and the problems involved and what he is going to do. He takes the time to answer any and all questions and does not make any question seem to trivial. I would highly recommend Dr. Nigam to anyone who is need of liver surgery. He is the best!
