Dr. Ann Gallahan Egland, MD

Today I visited the ECC at Andrews AFB for a suspected miscarriage. I have unfortunately had miscarriages in the past, so was prepared for the sense of loss I felt today. What I was not prepared for was the worst patient care I have ever received. You will wait for a long time and she will give you very minimal information in an extremely awkward manner. The only information Dr. Egland gave me was information on my vitals - I had to directly ask what the numbers should be, what this means, what next steps were, etc.. She did not even know where I go or who I needed to talk to so I could be discharged. She did not knock before entering rooms, did not offer explanations beyond telling me what numbers were. I am aware that you have very little say (if any) on who you see in an emergency room situation, but if there is anyway to not see her, avoid her.
