i read some of the other reviews with amazement. Were we writing about the same person? I've seen Dr. geld for 7 years for a combination of psychiatric and medical problems. Teasing out the difference has between them has not been easy. She was open about seeking consultations from specialists in other fields--something that some psychiatrists will not do. All, in all, she has been trustworthy and helpful--I would recommend her. Obviously, the "fit" must be right for the therapeutic relationship to work. She is a very good doctor, though.

Doctors are people too. If Ann Gelke is inconsistent, then she could need help.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gelke since the late nineties. She took me on after I suffered a psychotic episode as a result of misdiagnosis and mistreatment of my illness. I have frankly been appalled to find that the same individual is posting negative reviews of her on various Internet websites. Personality conflicts between psychologist/psychiatrists are not uncommon; everyone is unique. Sometimes finding the right doctor/patient synergy can be as challenging, but these reviews go far beyond an 'oil and water' case. 1) I find hard very difficult to believe anyone could find Dr. Gelke to be anything less than an incredible therapist, and 2) any complaints of indifference or coldness is bewildering to me. Are you sure your writing about the right person? Dr. Gelke saved my life. Negative reviewer, please stop your selfish slander of an excellent, senior physician with an enviable track record of successful outcomes.

I regret letting Ann Gelke evaluate my daughter. She made an inaccurate diagnosis. She recommended unnecessary medication. She was not timely in responding to our concerns. We should have trusted our instincts instead of listening to her advice. She should have listened to us, instead of dismissing our concerns.

Ann Gelke was late for every appointment. She provided the wrong diagnosis and prognosis. Her treatments were harmful. She has poor judgment and no moral compass.
